As we've taken the nation a bit by surprise w/ the first two games....What should we expect for the BC game....

1. new wrinkles/twists to the Offensive scheme as we've seen what is & isn't working.... Especially having had the opportunity to play so many yesterday.....Great experience to go deep into the depth chart to reward those guys for working hard & to let them get their feet wet in a game.... Was great to have big W and no additional injuries...

2. For the team to remain focused & prepare hard for BC next Saturday...especially since GT is getting well deserved PROPS for their first 2 games....2-0 baby!

3. Going to be interesting to see how we exploit the vertical game as our oppenents become more focused on #21 & #22.....hope to see them air it out & use our Tight ends & Cox to get some reps...Great to see Cox get a direct snap & a chance to show Bond what he is capable of.....another weapon outside of just his blocking....

4. For the D to come out PREPARED as always by Tenuta....

Any extra thoughts out there on this???

Recruting???

Any big time recruits going to be there next Saturday night for the BC game? Any real move ment towards our recruits who maybe riding the fence b/w us and another school? I know one thing the team & coaches haven't done anything these past couple weeks to scare anyone off! What a great start to what can be a VERY SPECIAL SEASON....Keep working hard MEN!

I'd say we should expect some passing, for the first time all season.

I think clock control is the key to the game. BC has a good offense and experienced QB but there defense has not impressed me at all. I do not think we need to air it out against this team keep running the way we have eat clock and never let there QB build a rhythm. I think we have the type of team that is built just right to beat this team and go 3-0. I cant wait. GO JACKETS!

BTW Does Dwyer remained anyone else of William Bell?

Not to take a thing away from William Bell - he was a fine back - but Dwyer has all the tools to be one of the greatest we have ever had if he continues to work hard and keeps his head on straight.

Dwyer is nothing like Bell. Bell was more like an undersized fullback with some speed. If you need a comparison go back and look at Eddie Lee Ivery.

And from what I've seen, Dwyer still has a way to go just to match Tashard. I'm not saying Dwyer won't get there (and you did say ONE of the greatest), but Choice is probably the best chance a Tech player (including Joe Hamilton) has had of winning the Heisman since Billy Lothridge lost to Roger Staubach.

Its a big recruiting weekend, all of the recruits will be there

Joe Hamilton was a very real ....

Heisman candidate and imho was one of the best 4-5 college QB's of my life-time who got screwed out of his Heisman by a terrible D and one lackluster outing against Wake(as bad as the offense was with Ball and Nix over the last 3-4 years, the D under Roof was possibly even worse ). Choice is a great back but is not a more legitimate Heisman candidate than Lil' Joe, he just MAY be on a better overall team (but let's wait and see how the season plays out). But here's hoping that TC is in the mix (the one person who should not win it is Booty at USC- a good QB surrounded by unreal talent).

I enjoyed watching Lothridge because - as Dodd said - he was so valuable to the team (running, passing, punting and kicking). I also believe Billy could have been a fine safety or even a linebacker. He had an excellent football mind, tough as nails and was a trememdous competitor. IMHO Hamilton was a better QB and the best QB I have ever seen at Georgia Tech. Staubauch was also a better QB than Billy and received better exposure because of Navy in those days.

As for running backs...Tech has had some great ones. Snow, Lavette and Ivery quickly come to mind as being very special although only Snow received first-team AA recognition (I personally thought Ivery and Lavette were better).

Tashard was recognized as 2nd team All-ACC last year and probably could have had more if GT had finished strong. For TC to receive the Heisman, he has to continue his excellent performance and GT has to be very highly recognized on a national level. (I'd like to see a top five finish) We're certainly not there yet but we have the potential. 14-0 should do it. 13-1 might, depending on what team is the 1. 12-2 could be problematic for a Heisman candidate. It would be most helpful if the conference were recognized as very strong. It likely won't be.

Dwyer combines excellent speed with size and balance. He could be a great one by his senior year. So far, he may be the best freshman running back I have seen at Tech.

William Bell did make 3rd team All-ACC in 1993, by the way.

When I started analyzing this game, I was a little nervous about the Eagles coming to Atlanta this weekend. However, the more research that I do, the more I think that the game will not be near as close as some think.

Don’t get me wrong, there is no doubt that BC will be the most talented team that we have played so far this year. I think that they do a good job of preventing the run by controlling the line of scrimmage with their defensive line. I do think that we are a better running team than either Wake or State, but I do not think that we will be picking up the huge chunks of yardage that we have seen the last two weeks. BC will stack the box. They will want to totally neutralize the run and force Bennett to beat them with the pass. However, they will play very soft with their corners and play prevent with their defensive backs all day long. BC does not seem very good at getting pressure on the QB. Also, since they will be playing primarily against the run, I doubt that they are going to bring their backers very often. Look for Taylor to get time to throw the football and look for him to take advantage of it. Outs, slants, and screens will be in abundance this Saturday. Look for Bond to get the ball in the hands of our running backs with toss sweeps and swing passes. We should see the unveiling of the new Rashaun Grant slot package as well. This should be a dynamite package and I think that it will work well against the Eagles. We may see several drives stall in the red zone, but I think that we will be playing in the red zone all night.

Hey, this was my 222 post. Maybe it is a sign...Tech wins 222-0.

I expect to see the Statue that BC has at QB get bifurcated by Phillip Wheeler.

Bingo. Bell was like 5-10 bull in a china shop runner. Dwyer is almost 6-1 with blazing speed and moves to boot. Very fluid runner.

Agree - although note their best DE got hurt against NC State and will not play against us.

We will win 35-17.
BC hasnt played a rb like Shard
he will have 2 tds and TB will get 3 td passes

I HAVE A PREDICTION THAT IS ABSOLUTELY AND POSITIVELY GUARANTEED TO HAPPEN.

At some point, during the game, we will hear the announcers give us that SAME DUMB TRIVIA QUESTION about which schools in the country don't have the word "University" in their name. GUARANTEE.

Excellent. Guess what? We'll get it twice this year.

Speaking of trivia questions during the game, I would've liked to have seen the "what is the average starting salary of a Tech graduate" question asked during the UGA game w/ a stadium half full of UGA fans. God, that would be so sweet.
