Favorite CPJ Quote...

Hilarious.
I'd say the quote takes on a lot more meaning if you emphasize the word "start."

Then you would be the second wrong person posting in this thread...

It may have meaning but how is that in any way a memorable quote... a million analysts have said practically the same thing... "10 wins and a bowl win would make for a great start" nothing special, nothing memorable, and certainly not original to PJ...

Man, the more I hear these quotes, the more I wish I was playing football for GT. I should go be a walk on wideout lol (I'm 6'5"). He seems like an awesome guy to be around. Funny, but very intense when he needs to be.

Paraphrased, I believe it was on 790 the Zone:

Interviewer: Coach, what did you think of Kentucky giving Alabama a game after they dismantled UGA last week? Do you think they had a bit of a letdown game?

CPJ: Well, I don't know really. Maybe Kentucky is just that much better than UGA.

Some of these quote are very Spurrior-esqe. To me at least, that is a good thing.

While this is a great jab at U[sic]GA, I think he was really speaking the truth there. How DID we know they were any better than Kentucky? All we have to go on is the reputation of the all-powerful SEC and the little number next to their name, and both have shown that they mean less and less each season.

Ish++

I can't quite remember the words from his postgame interview after Garner Webb, but it was classic. Something along the lines of this:

"That was an embarrassment. I'm embarrassed as a coach, and I hope like hell the players are embarrassed too. That was one of the worst displays I've ever seen in my life, and I want to apologize to anyone in the stands who was forced to watch it."

During a practice there was a high school kid wearing a UGA hat and some of the players were upset. CPJ saw this and said, "If I was a kid in this state I'd be a UGA fan, too. They've kicked our asses for the past 6 years." He later went on to say "nobody is going to just give you respect, you have to earn it."

This was said after one of the scrimmages in the spring, directed straight to Jamaal: "you need to quit, or I'm gonna run your ass out of here starting Monday."

After the GT-UGA game

Coach did you get a piece of the hedge?

Naw. I suspect that I'll be back.
Besides, you're suppose to act like you expected to win. Right? :D

Coach what do you think about UNC continuing to throw the ball late in the game up by 21 points?

Well I can only catch one team at a time. They are in our division. I suspect that we will see them again. :eek5:
