Favorite Gt vs Uncheat moment

Well if we are restricting this to football, then it would have to be the game at the Benz where we pretty much relegated them to obscurity - I think we sacked Sam Howell 37 times or something.

If we are just asking about any favorite moments then I gotta go with Dennis Scott. Hands down.

But curiously, there are two instances where our coach went Defcon 1 ballistic over a call that went UNC's way. Both Ross and CPJ.

If you are not acquainted with the incident involving Ross, I encourage you to find it on YouTube. At the time, I was concerned that GT was going to be the first program in NCAA history where a coach beat a referee to death on the field. You think CPJ was bad - CPJ was a kitten compared to Ross.

There is another incident with him as GT coach?
 
And to think, just a month later the UNC grad who worked for the NCAA began his investigation into how many pairs of sweatpants someone on our team got.
 
I remember a game at UNC when Gathers dropped into pass coverage and intercepted a pass in the 4th qtr that pretty much decided the game. IIRC Joe Burns had a hell of a 4th qtr up there a couple of years later. That was after we had gone about 50 years without a win at UNC

In basketball, Drew Barry dropped about thirty on them at Chapel Hill - that was fun.

But the favorite all time would have to be the ACC Championship in 1985 when Price/Salley/Joseph/Ferrell/Dalrymple/Petway beat UNC for the third time that year.
 
I had an awesome time at the 2013 deluge. The crowd was small but rowdy. Whiskey was my poncho. It wasn’t a great W by ranking or season impact and the only moment I really remember is when Vad decided he was gonna transfer after getting blasted by that S on a keeper. But it was a damn good game we won in crazy conditions and thus super memorable.


Addendum: Even though I think he decided to transfer that day I give him mad props for coming back and fighting thru the season vs being “available for emergencies”, but I will forever believe when he got lit that game he lost a lot of tenacity in the running game and wanted to go somewhere with a pocket.

At the start of the second half, that same ref that CPJ was screaming at as he was walking off the field, came out and made some sort of announcement before the second half kickoff.

That announcement generated a whole new set of loud boos.

Do anyone recall what the ref said?
