There are a lot of fond memories that I'm going to remember from the past 11 seasons but I think my favorite has to be the 08 UGA game. Sitting in a cold and rainy cesspool down 28-12 at halftime thinking that we were going to get destroyed, only for the greatest 3rd quarter in Tech history to break out. I knew then that we were going to be just fine.

I will say a small awesome moment from that '08 game is prolly my #2 specific memory of CPJ.

That fist pump in the rainsuit after we tied it up by going for 2.

2009 Virginia Tech looked like it was absolute bananas. I was in Boston at the time...
2008 Florida State is the first and only time I've cried tears of joy, and I'm married with 3 kids so there's that...
2008 UGA, and the "act like you've been there before" quip was pretty phenomenal
2009 @ Vandy was a fun road trip
Justin Thomas in 2014 and 2016.
Vad Lee UNC coming out party
Death Marchs against ranked UNC in I think mid 2010's...that just obliterated their team spirit.
Obliterating the "Charlottesville Curse" in 2009.

He doesn't make friends easily so he won't ever get his due here.

I really like some of the stories, like the one about him asking the offense if they want to score a TD and "drawing the play on the ground"... and us scoring a TD.

Sitting in a box at Sanford Stadium and my buddy, a lifelong Tech fan, asks me, "What's PJ saying?" at halftime.
I said, one, he's taking a leak. Two, he's peeling the paint once he gets into the lockerroom.
I told him, just sit tight, we're fixing to make this a game. We go score, stop, score, we're right back in it.
And then ....

There were two of those, right?

Once in the spring game and the other in an actual game against Vandy.

I also had a lot of fun at the 2009 Wake Forest game. A game we should've won but when it went into OT, I was scared as hell. But CPJ showed some BALLS, like usual. I remember walking out of the stadium, and some other teams had lost, so everybody was pumped from the game and the fact we were moving so high into the rankings.

2009 @ FSU, 2008 & 2015 victories over FSU - wait, the kick and six was that long ago? Crap

I agree that Halloween at Vandy in 2009 was great. Terrible lighting in that stadium at the time. Vandy students dressed as Pac Man and ghosts chasing each other in the stands. GT fans in the endzone slowly lowering the UGAg flag to steal it - only to get caught by security. Being Vandy, I suppose the security guard understood and took some photos with the Tech fans. Vandy had terrible video boards at the time - like having a 13" B&W TV in your home. Watching Peeples run to the endzone coming right at us on the pass play there. He was watching himself on the monitor as he ran so it looked like he was coming right at us. We chose to sit in the endzone, but you pretty much could have sat anywhere that game.

The first season of being puzzled about our offense. Not knowing where the ball was. Not knowing what position was which. Why is the running back lined up so close behind the QB?

Any victory over VT

Scott Blair to Demaryius Thomas against Clemson

The cold whiteout against Miami

I remember Dwyer carrying Duke players on the west side of the field like it happened yesterday.

Tarrant fielding the trick pooch kick on a line drive and taking it to the house

Nesbitt beating Wake in OT in 2009

The first beatdown of a worthy opponent - Mississippi State 2008

Being awed in the 3rd quarter thinking we might hit 1,000 yards rushing before CPJ called off the offense in the 4th against Kansas in 2010

And how CLOSE we were to playing to the National Championship in 2014. Should have beaten Duke, we played a terrible game, lost by 6. Should have beaten UNC, lost by 5. Dammit, should have beaten FSU in the championship, tried hard to come back, lost by 3.....and that was it. 11 points on the year. The equivalent of two touchdowns kept us from a perfect season. That has to stick in CPJ's craw. So close. Stomped Mississippi State in the Orange. We were SOOOOOOO close. I think some of us just don't realize how a bounce here and there our way could have been another national championship appearance for GT. I love you Justin Thomas. That year was magical. Wonderful. It is what makes buying season tix worthwhile.

I am going to miss CPJ badly.

That was Peeples and the Vandy game. Peeples said after the game coach asked him "Want a touchdown?"
