Favorite Memories of CPJ Era

Watching the 2008 UGA highlights, it's amazing how much better they have gotten at defending the option.

In person (not necessarily in order):
08 UGA - what is there to say?
15 FSU - greatest moment of football for me, period
09 and 11 Clemson - fake FG and then in 11 just utter destruction of #5 in the country
09 WF - flyover and go for it
09 UNC 42+ min TOP - rain rain rain and hold onto the ball forever
All of the whiteout Miami wins (08, 14, 18) - Miami is the 2nd most fun to beat on our schedule

Other games:
14 and 16 UGA - especially 14. greatest and worst game of my life. watched it in a room full of UGA fans. was standing outside by the fire to see the kick and the pick.
09 VT - I was in a wedding across town and was getting updates from friends and radio and making the DJ announce them over the PA at the reception. then met friends out to party in VaHi after the game.
14 OB - NYE and probably the most comfortable trouncing of a top 10 team as I've seen (11 clemson was close)
14 VT - watched it on my iPad in the hospital the day my first son was born

Favorite Paul moments:
when the called barked at him on the radio show and he said "He just got off [his shift] at Walmart."
yelling at mark brooks in the bowl game
the tongue wag after 15 FSU

the little kick he did when Butker closed out VT in 14

So many great ones. My favorite in person:
2008 Miami
-Whiteout, great atmosphere
2011 Clemson
-season ticket worth it for this game
2015 FSU
-Difficult to explain how awesome it was seeing this finish in person. Lousy season but such an amazing memory

Probably Beamer's OL getting a chop block flag during B**chgate.

In no particular order because that will require sorting through my mind:
2008 uga, I was there and it was awesome
2009 VT one of my fav games ever
(2009 uga game maybe most disappointing game of the era)
2014 uga, was there and not sure I’ve ever gone through such a roller coaster of emotions over four hours.
2014 acccg experience was great and almost won
2014 OB. I was on call that night but Dodd smiled down on me that night and my phone was silent from beginning to end of the game.
2016 uga. Didn’t expect that one. Was there with my uga wife which made the drive home even sweeter for me.

I always knew Justin Thomas was great. Watching him get 400 plus yards of total offense against duke in 2016 is when I just knew he was over the top and thatI was going to remember him as a special player.

The last 3 games of 2014 were some of the most beautiful displays of option football I have ever seen.

I loved the VT game where Cam Chancellor ran his mouth before the game. CPJ made a half time adjustment to send a crack back block on Cam every play and espn did a feature segment on it with Cam in crosshairs and getting blown up every play.

CPJ made a half time adjustment

Minor correction, no half time adjustment, just the correct way to run against that 8 man front. I know ESPN says it- telling your players to block it correctly and not freak out because the safety is shading the field isn’t an adjustment.

Helluva play by Dwyer to recognize he probably wasn’t getting the ball before the play started and knew to get out for the extra man there.

Essentially they were bad at disguising their normal defense.

It was frickin sweet seeing the replay over and over again though. VT crybabies still bring it up

I will say a small awesome moment from that '08 game is prolly my #2 specific memory of CPJ.

That fist pump in the rainsuit after we tied it up by going for 2.
I'll never forget the Mark Richt teamwide come-to-Jesus huddle. It was at that point that I just *knew* CPJ would change GT big time.

(Then again, it was the very next game when I realized I might be wrong.)

2008 miami was probably the most fun I had at a thursday night game.

Mostly due to my drunk roommate, still CPJ era.

A couple of those blocks would be a penalty now. I loved watching us get a hat on the safety.
