Feeding the obsession: Rome just ripped Georgia

The Dawgs didn't lose because of their character, they lost because St. Richt was outcoached by Satan. Bama went in there and punched UGA in the mouth from the word go. They were not ready to play this game. That's a coaching problem, not a character problem.

You call it poor preparation; I call it failure by the coaching staff to make sure that the players have the proper attitude, which is inseperable from the character issues. In other words, to be prepared is to be prepared mentally. To be prepared mentally is to have the appropriate attitude and outlook and respect for the game and for the opponent. All of this is, in fact, character. It's all related. When you have players that get drunk and start fistfights that end up in the emergency room it's probably difficult to get them to focus and be ready to play. Character is preparation.

Which excuse is the reason why ugag's o-line and d-line sucks? :D

ahhhhh, ok, here's one: "being larger men comprised of greater body mass, the o-line and the d-line members were affected even more adversely by the cabin pressurization on the long airplane trip back from Arizona".... yeah, that's the ticket!

Yep, it was all about the pressure all right....true as can be

Who cares if it's a cheap shot. I take every chance I get to make cheap shots at ugay.

Then again, I am the guy who will laugh when a dawg has a career ending injury though...

Sorry man, but you're reading too much into this IMO. ALL teams have down days...the Patriots, the Lakers, the Celtics, every one. By your definition, any team that has lost has a character issue? So we lost to VT because of character? EVERY TEAM has players who drink, start fights, etc. They do, we do, every team does. Yes a coach has to keep things under control and limit problems but losing a game is not a measure of character in and of itself.

I never said anything remotely like any of this, but thanks for attempting to respond to me anyway....

I'd expect cheap shots from GT fans - I have (and will) take some myself.

But if you're going to make a living doing what Rome does - at least sound like you (understood) know what the hell you're talking about.

I thought you meant it was morally wrong to make cheap shots against ugay :D

I just don't understand taking the cheap shots when there's perfectly valid top-shelf $20 shots to take instead. Especially coming from someone in the media who doesn't truly comprehend the danger that Athens poses to humanity.

Wow, that's some crackpot analysis from Rome. Rome never provides anything original. He just repeats what everyone else is saying, but does so with the worst case of short-man syndrom I have ever seen.

Sure, he rips Richt and UGA, but he's been doing that for a while, so it's no surprise and not the reason I think he's a punk. The way he talks about anything makes him a real weiner.

His rant on "softball guy" was funny, but his comments on what's happening right now in sports is always in line with everyone else in sports media.

Wow, I just searched for "georgia" and "jim rome" and there are a ton of videos. He's ripped on georgia so many times...
