Fell to #20 in Coaches Poll

It's not the playmaking, it's the blocking.

You are saying what I'm saying. In this offense I consider it the same thing. The blocking makes the plays in the run game. The passing game is more than blocking though... That is a lack of playmakers. Not one of our WR should scare our opponents at all.

Even if they should, there'd be no way to know it from yesterday's game. Outside of our burst there at the end, how many passes were close enough that we could say "He should have had that"?

Those were the biggest indicator to me that Thomas was rattled or in his own head or whatever you want to call it. When our blocking is clicking we can get away with some of those missed big plays/scoring plays through the air but yesterday we needed them and the opportunities were certainly there, he just could not make a good pass. Not to mention the poor ball protection, some really bad pitches and the fact that some called pass plays looked like draws because he went into panic mode the instant the ball was snapped.

He's better than the performance he gave yesterday, I really hope he plays to prove it the rest of the year.

And the counter to that is, we're the WR getting open? There was no separation by our WRs.

And that's fair. For all I know the inability to shake coverage was responsible for some of the off-target throws. At the same time, if I remember correctly, there were some that our WR did have positioning on his man if not separation. If he's on target, maybe it still gets broken up, but those passes didn't give the receiver the opportunity to make the play.

However it breaks down on tape in their film sessions, you're obviously right on the WR/AB deal. I'm not quite as worried about AB, I like Searcy and the blocking is more important than one or two of them having standout talent. But someone has got to step up out wide. We don't need Calvin or Bebe but we're not done facing teams with a capable secondary this year and having the pass threat as it was yesterday is obviously unacceptable.

The fact that JT5 kept throwing to the A-back instead of the WR tell you all you need to know about our WRs.

Our two big guys last season had a bigger impact on the offense than we want to admit because the safeties had to stay back to provide coverage.

It is understandable that you are a little embarrassed that we have uncovered your true love for the Dwags.

What in the öööö are you talking about? Are you ööööing senile?
