"Fellowship of the Miserable" or negative fans

2) Lets see, Curry left after '86. Bobby Ross won a championship in 1990. Are you really saying that the champion team was Curry's?

[/ QUOTE ]

No, if you can't read, that's your problem, not mine.

If you don't hate him, why did you say you hate him? You sound like a very confused individual.

Re: \"Fellowship of the Miserable\" or negative fans

You are absolutely correct MM

What I meant to say was ...I hate that the sob Curry did what he did.

In my confusion I mis wrote. Thanks for your sharp eye!

typical coachspeak if you ask me.....

all coaches defend other coaches....
how many times have you heard the ex-coach-turned-announcer say something like

I don't care what the locals say, coach A is really doing a great job here.....i know coach A and he is a fine man and wonderful coach....

Re: \"Fellowship of the Miserable\" or negative fans

Well said, NC. My two cents' worth: I like and respect Bill Curry as a man, and he was very good for GA Tech in terms of image, PR, etc. But he was not a great, or even a very good, coach. He had some big wins, like the season-opener against Bama when Lavette was a freshman, but mid-season, his teams seemed to lose momentum. It always seemd to me like he did a great job of preparation, but if the opponent changed schemes and did something unexpected, he and his staff were at a loss as to how to correct. I think bottom line is he was good Sunday through Friday, but not the best sideline coach in the world.

Having said all that, I admire Bill Curry the man very much.

I think a lot of folks are still missing the point

Yeah, as an individual, BC may be a great guy. But he did leave to go to darwinholt U and said he did it because he could win a MNC there.

But the point is, BC should NEVER have been our HC.

Don't know that anyone is arguing that.

Remember why he left!

[/ QUOTE ]

Okay. Did not understand that was the reason.

Re: \"Fellowship of the Miserable\" or negative fans

Re: I think a lot of folks are still missing the point

Whether he should have been our coach or not is irrelevant He was our our coach and shortly after his departure we won a MNC with some of his players and by the way it's funny the same thing happened at Bama.
I don't want to take anything away from Ross or Stallings for thier accomplishments but neither won MNC before following Curry.
He was not a great head coach but was a pretty good recruiter.

Re: \"Fellowship of the Miserable\" or negative fans

Bill Curry has described some good wisdom which is very effective.
