Field Goals are gonna kill us? and other thoughts

Last night + uga game last year elevated Blair considerably. Now let's sign a kicker who can kick it in the end zone. Seems like everybody else does.
Actually almost no one kicks it in the end zone since they moved the kick back several years ago.

Blair was the money man last night. 'nuff said.
Only one GT kicker has earned the right to be called the money man...he was there but damn his eligibility is all used up. Hell, he is probably pushing 40 years old and I bet he is still "money"

Thank you Mr. Sisson

Actually almost no one has this. For all of 2008, only 14% of kickoffs resulted in touchbacks nationwide in Division 1. We averaged 8%.

Another interesting stat...we only kicked 4 kickoffs out of bounds all of 2008....the top five in this miscue were:
1) National Champion Florida Gators with 10
2) Georgia - 9
3) California and Oregon with 8
5) Ole Miss - 6

I was confident in Blair from that distance, but I knew he had a new snapper/holder combo (that contributed to the missed extra point) so I was nervous about it.

I was more nervous when PJ was trying to draw them off sides before that (or make Dabo use his last time out, I think that was his real motivation); if a lineman had flinched and drawn a flag we would have faced a 41 yard attempt.

At that point in the game, I had...

a lot more confidence in his leg from less than 40, than I had in our offense getting a first down.

That is funny...I thought the same thing at the time.
