Fire Key tonight

I listened to the game and it sounds like the offense was moving the ball pretty well. Usually that means the OL is at least getting in the way. Was that not the case?

We went scoreless in 5 trips to the erred zone. The line was fine at times, but when we needed to earn hard yards, we buckled.

Our play calling was wacky yesterday in the red zone. We stopped doing the good things we were doing when we got to the red zone and started running crazy trick plays. There was no reason for that. We never threw a fade. Never ran zone read with a QB keep.

The O-line wasn't great, but it wasn't their worst performance. The TE blocking was really killing us.

Sounds like a play calling issue, or an execution problem which could be the OL
Like most things, it was a mix of both.
Here is the advanced stats for the game https://gameonpaper.com/cfb/game/401411122

According to the stats, the OL was only accounting for 0.5 of the yards per attempt compared to 1.9 for UCF. We had the same number of stuffed runs (<=2) as we had >=4. We essentially feast or famined. Also, a lot of those ground yards were Sims just making good plays with his feet. Those plays dried up in the red zone, whether that be due to play calling or the short field.

We moved the ball at will, but öööö the bed when it came to scoring.

The meltdown when Key leads us to 7 wins will be legendary.

I wish we had a 6'7" receiver to throw to down there. Oh wait...

The meltdown when Key leads us to 7 wins will be legendary.

The meltdown when they remove the "interim" label from him is what will be legendary...

I think most folks aren't facing the reality that it's (sadly) the most likely outcome.
