Flyover

I already told you guys. Paratroopers are going to drop during the pre-game show, according to the GT Band.

Again, how do we go about getting the jet flyover? Should all of us just contact them asking for one?

With NAS Atlanta closed a USN flyover would be tough, USAF maybe, USA Paratropers 'Black Knights' if memory is correct would be cool. Most flyovers are done with some type of training exercise. VT has the Corps of Cadets and had a huge flyover a few years back. Nephew was in the Corp and flys USN P-3. He sent me the tape of the VT flyover, a really great assembly of 8 planes, USN USAF and USA.

The last flyover at GF / BDS had Georgia Tech alumni flying.

All you have to do is call the DOD Special Services For Civilians office in D.C. and submit a request. They will review the request and if personnel and equipment are available, and the event does not impact operational expenses, they will schedule the flyover or other exercise, weather, location and other factors permitting. The phone number is 888-686-8687.

Everyone call it and ask. It would be a great way to start off the game!!

Dobbins/Lockheed needs to step up, hell, half their employees are GT grads. There are plenty of F-22, F-16, and C-130 sitting on the tarmac. Speaking of, a F-22 flyover be the ultimate!!!

A flyby would be the ultimate touch. I think it would really fire us up.

I remember the night we played Notre Dame. It was electric. The flyby was HUGE.

That flyby was awesome! Banked over Bobby Dodd and hit the afterburners. Looked like a 14' blue flame out the tail end.

Called the number and it was talking about shuttles to the airport....Ummmm why?

If done well paratroopers can be one of the coolest things you will ever see. Flyovers last all of 1/2 second.

We had paratroopers for the Army game a couple years ago.

Still think flyovers are way cooler...it's a 1/2 second adrenaline jolt to get you ready for kickoff.

This has to be another one of Kyle's aliases.

I just had the creepy thought: What if everyone on StingTalk besides me is Kyle.

How about paratroopers ejecting from F-22s? Two great tastes, together at last.

Might want to warn the Coke Building, though.

Exactly. Paratroopers are cool, but it takes a while an you end up staring at the sky looking into the sun.
