A friend of mine died this week.

There are homeless people living all around us.

There are real problems in the world.

But, football isn't one of them.

We played a bunch of close games last year and won most of them.

We played a bunch of close games this year and lost most of them.

It's called entertainment.

For the rest of the weekend, there will be a lot more games just like this one, and I'll just enjoy being entertained.

Georgia Tech plays entertaining games and, win or lose, we get a lot of money for providing the entertainment.

We're pretty lucky.

If you ever want to feel horrible about something you just said, go to Columbia a week after losing to Clemson and gripe about it... Then realize your sitting with a bunch of people who have to drink bottled water and are happy their houses are still there.

You are right that we are pretty lucky.

Are we talking Columbia SC, Columbia MO, Colombia the country or something else altogether?

Well said, sir. In the end, it's all for fun and to enjoy good times with your family and friends.

Stupid post. This is a football forum. Not a "life" forum.

öööö off. Not here, on the board, but in "life" - öööö off away from the keyboard. Shouldn't be hard for you, just pretend things are going pretty good for the team and you'll find yourself forgetting StingTalk even exists. Bye now.

This is exactly why Ciraldo made his original post. People on this, and all, message boards lose their civility and their manners when they post, especially after losses. Ciraldo is an elderly gentlemen and one of the longest tenured Tech fans and alumni on this board. If you were face to face with him, would you call something he says stupid? I disagree with many things he posts, but he and others like him deserve our respect, regardless of his views on football. We are all Tech fans here... why do we need to insult each other, and especially our elders?

He's just a troll. If his post in this thread isn't evidence enough, his piping hot take in his new thread should suffice. He's a moron and a troll.

Ciraldo's post is fine and I agree with it. You're still an idiot though.

If it was just him, I could brush it off, but it seems like a good chunk of the board is like this now. It's a like a contest to see who can make the biggest jackass out of themselves.

Alright I'm really gonna try to sleep now. Goodnite y'all. I hope everyone feels better tomorrow.

I have loved Tech sports for over 55 years. I saw Bobby Dodd coach, when my Daddy took me to games at Grant Field when I was a growing up. Back then, even Tech grads were on a waiting list for tickets.

I have known almost every Tech coach in football and basketball, beginning with Bobby Dodd and Whack Hyder, whose son, Tommy, was one of my best friends, when I was growing up.

Believe me, I feel terrible every time Tech loses. I don't think anybody wants Tech to win more than I do, because I probably won't be around to see how many future recruiting classes or coaches pan out. And I've passed that love of Tech down to my children and grandchildren.

However, it's not consistent with what Coach Dodd or Coach Hyder taught to turn to rude, crude comments and finger pointing when things don't go our way. (Unfortunately, I violate this rule myself on many occasions. I'm just a fan, too.)

There used to be something very distinct about being a "Tech Man." You could tell the difference between Tech supporters and the supporters of other teams by how Tech people reacted to losses, as well as to wins.

Now, when I look at some comments people make on Tech message boards, I can't see much difference at all. That is a sad loss for Georgia Tech.

We need to remember that people fortunate enough to go to Tech or to be associated with Tech have many God-given advantages that the supporters of other teams don't have.

We are not lining up to be on the Paul Finebaum Show. We should be unique and show that at Tech we have a healthier attitude about integrating our love of Tech sports into our over-all lives.

Believe it or not, people around the world have a lot of good will for Georgia Tech, because we have shown that difference for over one hundred years. Let's not lose our uniqueness now.

++1--this! I drink a toast to every word of this post. I too grew up through the Dodd years and have been a fan for 60+ years. Sometime it's too easy to lose "perspective" when engrossed in being a fan. GT means much more than a football game. Sure i'm sorry we lost but I temper that with my love for the game and all that GT stands for. Looking forwad to beating Ugag and finishing this difficult season on a high note.
