Football Playoff

I think that everyone agrees that there needs to be some sort of playoff system for college football, but what should the format of that playoff be? What if the top 8 conferences played a playoff using the existing bowls? Or how about the top 7 conferences and a wildcard, or the top 6 conferences (ACC, BE, B10, B12, P10, SEC) and two wildcards? How about a total realignment of the top 64 college football teams into 8, 8 team divisions based upon geography and the existing conferences?
