It’s pretty common these days at larger state institutions. I know GT has lost recruits in non revenue sports to schools like Texas A&M because all classes were online. This gives the “Student”-Athlete more opportunity to train, etc. Can’t do that at GT.
Have a kid at A&M. He had to take Biology as an online class this semester (labs in person). When you have 62k undergrads on campus, it’s hard to find some general classes that fit in the schedule with class space. Total online isn’t the norm, but I bet you could take a lot of hours that way. Makes sense that athletic departments are using that as a selling point to athletes.

Last online class I had, which was over 10 years ago, had a lot of room for scholastic dishonesty.

Last IT cert I took online, only because there wasn’t an in person option until about a month out, was super stressful, lots of rules and they had a proctor that was viewing you the whole time.

I wonder how a lot of these online courses are proctored, but I’m sure a lot of these social science courses that were taken could probably be aced based on the instructors PowerPoints and maybe a 3 page paper or two.

Universities are basically just giving free degrees to athletes as a perk now. As an employer, would you believe that a former Colorado football player actually got a college education?

I think Tech should just quit this whole corrupt and debased NCAA system

Give us REAL students, REAL student athletes, REAL college athletics

Remember when UNC was exposed for secretly doing this and it was a big scandal? They were just ahead of their time.

I heard they are going to change the name of the school to The Sanders University.
Emphasis on the The.
