For all of you bashing Pat Clark

BOR only said it, not because he's tough, but because he knew they were all too baked to do anything about it.

She also later had an opportunity to ask Gundy in a press conference which items in her article were not factual and he refused to answer.

Hey clapper, way to assume way more than was in her article. She basically pulled together a serious of incidents or comments, supposedly said by others, and made up a story to support her assumptions/beliefs. It was a crap column and she got pretty much what she should have.

Assuming you haven't really followed the story, at this point a couple of things have come to light. On the laughing thing, it was evidently just due to something that a teammate said to the opponent's fans behind the bench. Not guys having fun on the bench during a loss, just a reaction to a funny comment. Also she wasn't at the game where the kid's mother was supposedly feeding him and the kid's mother said she took chicken out of his meal, but that she ate it. Maybe not true, but just as many "facts" as her article.

Not trying his hardest or giving his all is one thing, but to bash the guy because he makes a mistake (or many mistakes) is just not right.

But it's easy, particularly when anonymous and behind a keyboard.

Would you say the same to his face? That's the question I ask myself before I post.

He's a student athlete representing GT, and as long as he's doing all he can and within the rules he's beyond personal attack as far as I'm concerned. Blame the coaches for playing him, or blame the coaches for not having more skill at the position, but to bash the player for doing all the right things is a sad comment on those doing the bashing.

I can tell you one thing, I would play for Gundy in a second, and I would have no problem with my son doing the same...Mike

Fair points all.

I remember our high school kicker and punter getting all sorts of grief because he didn't kick well. I knew the guy and he didn't want to be the kicker but he was the best we had on the team, so he did his best. He tried to laugh off the tacky comments from the students and classless shouts from the crowd, but it bugged him because he didn't even want the position. The coach wouldn't play him anywhere else for fear of injury because the next option for kicker was so much worse.
 
He still sucks at corner....how else can I say it without offending u. Umm..he's not one of our strong points. Better? I dont need ur advice sensitive suzy, just move on.
 
He doesn't suck at corner ... he is "coverage inhibited", he's not slow he is "speed challenged" ... CCG is not a retard he is "chromosome deprived" ...

OK ok ok..

I have a compromise position:

Pat Clark sucks at cornerback, but I appreciate him putting forth the effort to suck at corner because cornerback is a thankless job and clearly most of the rest of the team sucks worse at cornerback than he does.
