For my 1000th post I bring you...

Re: Kyle, you seem like a nice young man...

I believe the quality of this board has been greatly diminished by too many off topic posts being put on the football board by a handful of posters, thus your comment about lack of new threads. please ignore/use/respond as you see fit.

I don't know how you could think that. Who DIDN'T need a new thread titled "Next year's freshman class will have been born in 1990" in the football forum? I think everyone can agree that that was relevant and useful information, in addition to promoting very vibrant discussion that enlightened the college football landscape for us all.

It's dumb to have a filing system you don't use. I figure the mods will move this over sooner or later. And I have no idea why Off Topic is off limits.

If you don't like the thread don't click on it. It's simple. Sorry I had to waste 0.0001 seconds of your life as your eyes scrolled over the title.

gth816f, that is funny....

however I think your intended audience missed the point. To the originator of the thread referenced above, why WAS that posted in a forum supposedly dedicated to GT football and not in the off-topic forum?

And to the mods, would you CONSIDER moving non-relevant posts to the appropriate forums? Not asking for censorship mind you but imo doing the above would greatly enhance (restore?) the quality of this website

No, I don't think so. The mods here don't do stuff like that...which is one of the reasons everyone likes it here so much. Uninhibited freedom of speech...even if it does lead to undesirable results sometimes.

just put the posts in the appropriate place since some of the posters can't/won't do it themselves. IMO, this site is generating less interest/posts than in years past due to clutter on the football board. Since it only an opinion and not backed up with hard data I could be wrong.

Let people post whatever they like (within certain parameters of course)..encourage participation...but just keep the fly#$!& seperated from the pepper. I am mainly interested in GT football, moreso than basketball, baseball, politics, sophomoric postings about the number of times one has posted,etc....so keep these interesting trivialities off the football page or else just have one forum and be done with it. I think the latter option would really diminish what has typically been a great Gt message board.

Re: Kyle, you seem like a nice young man...

but I will add my $.02. You are IN college, enjoy it,LIVE it as you only get one chance at it and minimize the internet usage and this message board for when you are an old fart like the rest of us and come to these boards for GT football information you will not be able to get when you live outside of metro ATL. Don't misread this....this is intended to be useful. I can assure you that 20 years down the road you will not recall any message board thread as being the highlight of your years at GT (at least I hope not).

Bingo.
