Georgia Tech’s Jonathan Dwyer said something on behalf of his team that his coaches might be glad to hear. “I think we’ve learned our lesson, finally,” he said. “If we don’t go out and play, we’re going to get our butts kicked. So after today, we’ve got to come out and have more confidence and continue to play hard the whole game.”.........."And the little things add up. As Griffin said, if 10 players are doing the right thing, but one player isn’t, bad things can happen."

Take it as you will, but me personally, I ain't buying it until they show it. We have heard all kinds of talk this offseason and into the season about this kind of stuff. I kinda thought LSU would have been enough, but I was wrong.

Come on Tech, bow up and show us your stuff.

Things just haven't been the same since the LSU game. Dwyer seemed pretty upset at everything, but when the O-line can't help him get through, there's not much he can do. Quite frankly, I think while we were very happy with our depth at our RBs, we've got nothing anywhere else.

I don't understand why this is somethig that has to " be learned, finally." I suppose that I need to remember that these are 18-22 year olds and sometimes it's hard to get their attention.

Why is that not something that they learned in pop warner?

Love JD, but this sounds like microphone fodder more than anything.

Gotta agree here.

Makes me think of Clemson last year.

"ZOMG Spiller, Ford, Davis, blah blah"

And then quickly finding out that without an offensive line their uber backfield wasn't going to actually LEAVE the backfield.

They should have learned it in the flim room after clemson. No excuses in not being prepared and giving your all.

I appreciate Jon manning up and all but it really wasn't the team's fault. The coaches lead them to the slaughter. What do those sorry bastards have to say? Oh well? Coaching staff owes us an explanation and guess what? They ain't takking. I say BULL****!

Having not played very well coached football before, I can't really judge. I've always thought that the players have to, some extent do something themselves. They didn't even look like they were trying last night for most of the game.

Time for a players only meeting?

If JD is right -- that there's an attitude problem -- one thing that has been done in the past is the seniors call a players only meeting. Sometimes hearing it player to player does things that the coaches can't.

I thought we learned that lesson 3 times last year. Nice to know we are still learning from our mistakes.

Yeah, but this year they had been annointed as a Top 15 team. Maybe needed some losing.

And I'm not defending that attitude, I'm just seeking an explanation. And maybe trying to find a reason to believe that we will finally see an increase in effort on the field.

I'm not bashing the quote, because I like the mentality behind it. However, I hope he's right. I hope it is just a matter of our players getting their ass kicked so they wake up and get going.

The flip side is that we really are better than last year, that we really are doing all we can, and that we still can't compete with the better teams.

I like Dwyer's scenario much better than the flip side, and I honestly don't think it has anything to do with people figuring us out. We just are not executing - and that falls on the coaches first.

I agree with the fella who said he wants to hear something out of the coaches. I do too, and its been 24 hours.

Still a young team who thought they were as good as the press clippings suggested. It's a shame it takes something like this to make a point, but anyone who has teenagers has seen it all before. Hopefully a new attitude is all that is needed and they really have it figured out now. Still wonder about the DL and LBs though.
