The excitement of the bowls is just down a notch for me this year probably due to our bad year.

For fun, a trivia question (probably too easy given the extensive knowledge of people on this board).

Name the last former Tech player to win the national championship with another team. Hint: he is playing this bowl season.

yeah, I figured it would be too easy, especially because only hardcore Tech fans would be on the board this time of the year when we are not in contention.

OK, let's broaden the question. Name others?

Let's give people a chance Kayzer :)

Taylor Bennett. Win the Swedish national championship with the Mean Machines, I believe.

Sorry for hijack,

But hard to believe it was a Quarter Century ago today we won the NC in Orlando.

One hell of a HC, Assts coaches, and team.

Who was the TE that transferred to Alabama when CPJ came in. Did he win a MNC?

Ok, here is close-but-no-cigar: Ty Griffin played for Oregon in the championship game last year.

How about players that backed out of commitments to other schools to come to GT?

Justin Thomas - 2012 Alabama

Probably aren't any others.

Andy Hall won the 2003 Division I-AA Championship with the University of Delaware after transferring from Georgia Tech.

he was drafted in the 6th round by the Eagles and played in the NFL for about 2 years

Anthony Hargrove won a Super Bowl with the New Orleans Saints in 2010.

Ed Nelson transferred after two years at Tech and then won a National Championship at UConn

but he could only watch from the bench as UConn beat Georgia Tech in the Final since he had to sit out a year. if he had stayed, we might have won a championship and he might have actually gotten to play in one

Naw, we need BJ Elder and Ish to be completely healthy to have a shot in that game. Okafor was 100% and a tough match unlike when we beat them 4 months earlier. Imagine if Bosh had stayed another year though....
