FSU benches rix in favor of adrian mcpherson who will start next week.

if FSU and bobby bowden think a pretty good QB like Rix needs to be benched so that an even more athletic QB (rix is very athletic himself) can start, that means something. mcpherson comes in for a few series and gets a couple TDs sort of like bilbo has done. maybe we will learn from them eventually if we are trying to be successful. uga has been successful bringing in shockley every once in a while. only difference is that Uga ands fsu give their backups some half way decent plays to run. this is not a knock on suggs. since he is improving we should see how he does first half against NCSU.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">He is getting benched mainly because he has not progressed very much over last year and tends to make bad decisions and mistakes which lead to turnovers when the other team gets pressure on him. He also is making those mistakes w/o pressure as well. The third quarter of the ND game, FSU got blitzed--literally. Rix made a couple of key gaffes that helped ND score about 17 pts. in less than 5 minutes of game clock; ouch.

Rix's inconsistency has lead to his benching more than the need for "more athleticism."

and suggs has been consistent? suggs is not makin mistakes? rix is still a better qb than suggs right now.

so shockley and mcpherson who are students at academically inferior schools can learn plays but bilbo whose at tech cant? then maybe our coaches are the problem.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">whoa there. I was merely pointing out the reasons why Rix was benched, not passing judgement on Suggs or Bilbo. Thus far, the loss of the Fridge has been felt the most when it comes to developing the QB since we are now starting a QB that he has not coached and the results have been inconsistent (at best) so far. This to me, is a bigger loss than having a different playbook.

Suggs did play much better against UVA. Let's see if he can continue to make progress as the level of competition goes up in Nov. (and yes, I would still like for Bilbo to get more game experience as well).

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">It may be that the accademics at tech being as high as they are that Bilbo don't have the time needed to learn the play book like others would at schools that are less demanding in those areas.
