Not really. When he was calling plays at UGA, they were generally very good. He then designated those duties off and that's when trouble started to creep in.

Bobo was a good playcaller - hard to question Richt for delegating to Bobo - head coaches typically don't playcall unless they also devise the offensive game plan which is quite a responsibility. I think Richt's problems really spiraled when Bobo left. Instead of re-assuming those duties, he stayed out of it. Which, imho, is why he got the boot. But UGa is finding out how good they had it and how not good they currently have it.

Yeah, he hired that ööööing idiot Schottenheimer. UGA screwed up, Kirby Goff is not a good coach, the guy is way in over his head.

Schottenheimer is just flat out stupid. I got an up close look at the guy when his dad hired him with the Redskins. Curious how otherwise good coaches hire such bad assistants. Richt, Johnson - I could go on for quite a while.
 
Couple of observations:

I was at the UM-FSU game last night and the Dolphins today. It was like being inside a jet engine Sat night - sold out, and no one in the lower bowl sat down all game. UM has doubled their season tickets sales this year over last. Interesting to me FSU did not even bring their band so no war chant. The new roof over the seats all the way around and open over the field really kept the sound inside.

UM will actually have a home field advantage going forward. People down in SFL are real bandwagon fans and are looking for some team to take over now that the Heat are no longer on top.

Neither Miami or FSU is really a lot better than GT this year. We have to get back to making the handful of plays that make the difference in winning and losing.

It was maybe 60% full this afternoon for the Dolphins and the loudest it got was in the Q4 with booing the QB.
