Is very exciting! Just think about all the undeclassmen talent pj has to work with. Josh nesbitt sophmore jonathan dwyer sophmore roddy jones redshirt freshman morgan burnett sophmore derrick morgan sophmore. In 2010 i see us holding up the acc title. What does everybody else think? You have to give credit to chan for actually leaving us some young talent. But give credit to pj for what hes goin to do with it

How do you give credit for something that has not yet been accomplished? While we hope and believe that PJ will be successful, it is a little bit premature to assume anything. You obviously weren't around for Bobby Ross' successor. There was alot of excitement before reality set in.

Ross left, and we were stuck looking for a replacement as quickly as we could. We settled on Lewis, who turned out to be a flop.

Then we replaced Lewis on our terms, and got a decent coach in O'Leary. When O'Leary left, it was back to settling on the best we could find at the time, which happened to be Gailey.

Gailey proved to be rather lackluster, despite a string of winning seasons. So we replaced him on our terms, and got Johnson.

Are you starting to see a pattern here?

It strikes me that we tend to fare better when we're in the drivers seat rather than reacting to fill a void. And honestly, what aspect of life is this not true about?

Not sure when, but from the day I heard PJ was going to be our guy, I honest to goodness believe he will win a National Championship here... sooner than later. He went from a 4-6 win team or something like that at GSU to the national championship in two years!!!! And what did he do after that? WENT BACK TO BACK! Of course having a playoff system helps because you can be ranked #16 and still win it all in I-AA.

We need to stack up a few recruiting classes like the one that brought in Dwyer before we can plan to jump over FSU, Miami, and Clemson. This year looks to be our best shot at doing that as so many top players will be left up uf for grabs. If we can get our share, and do it again next year, you might be right!

Jump over FSU, Miami, and Clemson? We're already past FSU and Miami and at least on the same level as Clemson. Have you been paying attention the last 5 years? Miami and FSU suck now...

Well Knox on paper you are right .....

Seems Clemson has not been a regular problem and We surely have Miami's number .... Clemson historically and Miami recently..... But recent history (like since they joined the ACC) has us behind the eight ball with Fl St..... Still got to beat them for respect .... And no MNC will ever be rewarded until we beat GA.....

We were in the driver's seat. We hired the hottest coach around who had won at East Carolina (they were 11-1 in 1991). From Wikipedia, "Lewis received 1991 National Coach-of-the-Year honors from the American Football Coaches Association, United Press International and Scripps-Howard."

How is that scrambling? We went fast because we wanted to beat others to him. Ross quit right after Christmas, which is earlier than most firings of bowl teams. We had choices. The Ross hiring was just as quick and it happened to work out.

Plus Homer had been following Lewis's career for years and was convinced he was a great choice. We would probably have hired him no matter how much time we had. Just proves anyone can make a mistake.
