Gailey just got a commit from a 4 star RB...

Re: I don\'t disagree, but playing time at RB seems to

I agree completely. As a side note though, blocking has a lot less to do with size and a lot more to do with a RB's personality. Some backs like to block/hit, other's don't. Doesn't matter how big they are. I remember Barry Sanders and Emmitt Smith blocking the hell out of some people in passing situations.

You're right BOR, the kid is plenty big enough if he's got the mindset and technique.

185 should be big enough in college.

I agree with the poster who postulates that at 5-8,185 you have to be solid muscle to run a 4.5.

Barry listed at 5-8 200 and Emmett listed at 5-10 216. 15 pounds wouldn't be tough to add in 18 months when we will realisticly be in the market for an every down back.

Another good example is Warrick Dunn - small guy (170-180 lbs) who gets more snaps than TJ Duckett (250-260 lbs) primarily because of his blocking ability.

It's more about effort & determination than size.

Odds are

he will be a "specialized back".They have to be REAL special to be a fulltime TB at 185.(btw-we had this same discussion about Grant 3 yrs ago).Either they get hurt or can't block well enuff.
We really need a KO and PR guy.Wonder if he has done this?Hands?

Have you watched the 3 video reels of him on Rivals?

Re: I don\'t disagree, but playing time at RB seems to

Where's my buddy Thurman Thomas mentioned. Whether you believe it or not but from 89-95 Thurman was the best all around back BAR NONE. I'm biased but go back and watch the film. this SOB could lay the wood when he had too. caught balls and ran with the best of them.

shew, i feel better.

Re: Odds are

Let's take a look at some of the full time backs in the acc and ugag.
miami - moss - 5'8" - 185
va. tech - Imoh - 5'7" - 195
wake - 5'10" - 180
fsu - booker - 5'11" - 187
duke - drummer - 5'9" - 175
georgia - brown - 5'8" - 183
By the way, Jamaal is a special back. To be able to gain over 2000 yards a year for three years and average over 25 tds a year in 5a texas ball you have to be special.

As a dolphins fan and lifelong Bills-hater I can certify that this statement is true, sad but true.

LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE!!

Brown and Imoh are not full time backs.

Not that I disagree with you. Humes is VT's big back and he plays a lot. They also have a frosh. UGA has a rotation as well.

Jamaal Evans #23 player in Texas and Rivals #4 all purpose back. 5-8, 185lbs and runs sub 4.5.

Great pick up for the Jackets.

Maybe he can be a punt returner?? Sounds like the type we need returning punts like Charlie was a few years back.
