Guys....Travis Howard, Etienne Sabino's teammate that toured UGA and GT with him last weekend...said in his interview that he loved the GT campus...the stadium...and the way the buildings overlooked the stadium. He then went on to call out UGA's campus and say that it was not that impressive.

Also remember that Daryl Richard and Derrick Morgan (among others) also noted they liked the family feel over the big college atmospheres. To top it off....Daryl and Derrick exchanged cell phone numbers with Etienne to stay in touch with him.

Guys...facts are stubborn things...we are playing to our strengths. There are many drawbacks to the big schools...we are not a big school. That was the point.

Well with that kind of response Lawbee, you wonder why we haven't fared better than 7 win seasons and a 9 win season when we had 14 games to do it in. All of that with the most gifted Athlete ever to play WR.

Yeah, I would say that while you have a point, we haven't done better because our recruiting hasn't fared better. Lets face it, the 2005 and 2006 recruiting classes were hardly jaw droppers.

If we go back to JAX this year I think it will be evidence that we have raised the level of the program.

We were at .500 in the ACC long b/f CG got here and we may have overacheived to stay there in the Flunkgate era, however with a wins at VT and Miami it seems we may be breaking out of the ACC middle.

If we go back to JAX this year Tech will be 2nd, 1rst, and 1rst in the Coastal over the last 3 years. Gailey, who is now the second winningest coach in the entire ACC since expansion (behind Beamer), would be working on number 1.

I believe the ACCCG hinges on the VT game in Atlanta this year. I like Tech's chances.

We were 3rd in the Coastal in '05.

Nice to see the sunshine crowd show up, though.

One Note To Those That Understand The Selling Process

If you do not mention factors that can be spun as negatives, you can rest assured your competition will raise them, and then frame the issue in the way that hurts you the most.

I don't know what Chan said or how he said it, but I am not surprised he raised the objection. That's just good salesmanship. And judging from the recruit's reaction Chan put the best face on the issue possible with some effectiveness.

Does anyone truly believe that the football factories we are going against will not raise the issue of stadium age and size? Can people be that naive?

If this kid can't recognize that there won't be 90,000 people in a stadium that only seats 55,000, we probably don't want him anyway. Gailey was just laying out the facts, and apparent ones at that.

this is a STUPID argument. Etienne Sabino and his teammate raved about the Tech campus and Tech coaches after the visit. Sabino has been or will be on just about every major campus on the eastern seaboard and he has us in the top of his list out of 30+ offers. His quotes were nothing but positives....whatever sales pitch we used worked!!
