Most everyone bitched about the Vegas gold of the Gailey years. It looked washed out and never matched the helmets. Plus I recall bitching about blue numbers and then bitching about not being able to see white numbers when blue numbers were not used.

the Gailey throwback was the best uniform of all time, but is nowhere close to what Tech considers to be its gold (either now or at that time).
 
I could be totally wrong here but doesn't the visiting team have to agree for us to wear white at home? It seems like it may have been nc state several years so that didn't agree and made us wear a darker color. I could be wrong on both accounts though.

I cant remember if ncsu did it, but wfu did it at least twice.

The unfortunate reality of a Thursday night game during an awful season. I couldn’t make it because of work, and I still wish I was there.
