On the Hive there's a mention of him violating NCAA rules in the recruitment of Jackson/Peek but nobody's giving specifics. A lot of venom being spewed his way but no info.:pat: Anybody here in the know and willing to spill the beans?

The NCAA knows of the violations and will decide what actions to take, if any.

some things should be left off public boards

he violated the rules clearly

They have been reported, I hope the NCAA doesnt' hide in its shell.

the recruitment of Jackson, from all angles including people in HIS life influencing him is very SAD.

Thats a shame, always thought Collins did pretty well with what he was assigned and hoped he'd find his way back onto the Flats someday, but looks like that bridge has been burned.

I guess Bama can put another notch in their violations headboard if it turned out to be true.

As in "Colin Peek?" If so, any chance Tech catches any flak from this?

How can it be clear if nobody knows what it is?
33 is implying that either he knows what it is, or his source does.

beej67,
who's never much on anonymous internet sources, but doesn't intend that as a dig against 33j at all.

I'm somewhat positive Geoff Collins wasn't around Tech when we recruited Peek out of high school so this stuff couldn't hurt us.

The Jackson stuff probably revolves around Collins talking to him during a dead period in an effort to get him to go to Bama since Gailey was fired.

no sources, just an educated guess.

Why would GT catch flak from it??? From reading this thread it ...(totally speculating)....sounds like....or it eluding to Geoff recruiting/contacting Peek (a current GT player), and Chris Jackson a GT recruit....He must have contacted Peek about transfering since PJ doesn't use TE's & done something else to lure Jackson away from GT...Why would GT be in trouble for that?

First I do know what it is from someone closely involved, and from someone who ACTUALLY reported this to the NCAA.

Secondly, to the poster who asked if I am protecting geoff...no...its not goeff its the people he has influenced, had dealings with, that I care not to share.

Can you at least tell us if Tech may catch some flak from this? We just got out of the last debacle, we don't need anything else.

33's protecting Jackson, from what I gather, and I understand him not wanting to throw him under the bus.

GT wont catch flak, they didn't do anything wrong.

With the whole situation, the NCAA already is aware and will act accordingly, until something happens with that I will not release the info it is best to keep quiet until it is all cleared up.

The OP was ambiguous whether any violation had anything to do with Peek's original recruitment to Tech or whether it was something recent. That's now been cleared up, and I'm breathing a little easier.

Sweet. As long as Tech's not involved, I don't care.

no...this isn't a tech issue

if it clears it up any...tech is who reported it to the NCAA.
