Georgia Southern Gonna Get SMU'ed

It's kind of funny that even though they had 2 OL blocking each other, they still gained ~7-8 yards on the play.

UNC had fake classes. Miami paid recruits. If neither are punished for those, no one will ever get the death penalty again

This always makes me laugh when people point out UNC & their afam classes. Phoney & due for punishment - oh yeah.

But that esteemed West coast liberal weenie tank - Cal (who we have lost so many recruits too), has had a ton more phoney classes since the late 60's to 70's. All in the name of PC bullshit, all in the name of the same crap unc was trying to pull off. But being of the Hate America first brand, places like Cal are allowed to get away with it and it is somehow admired.

I wish this was true, but I think the cases with UNC/Miami (as well as Tennessee, Bama, Stanford, etc.) and the lack of action from the NCAA only prove that they will not bite the hands that feed them.

It wasn't the subject matter (AFAM) that irritated people. It was the fact that the classes involved 0 work, were 60% athletes and was't a 'real' course of study for the athletes. A 'real' AFAM degree might not have a ton of value, but the UNC athletes version was largely made up of online courses that required no academic work from the 'student athletes.' There is a difference.

Not if you know the crap phonies like Cal have perpetrated over 40 years.

And I believe the subject matter at unc had a lot to do with it, JMO.

If this causes them to step back to AA, it is in the best interest of the school, just like the death penalty would be for Georgia State football.

I'm not nearly as close to the Ga Southern program as I have been in the past, but man, I hear some things about the new coaching staff, and they are not positive.

They are going SECheat. Truth is, the Sunbelt is the new 1AA. The difference in money is too large from a Power Five school. Southern timed this about as poorly as they could.

Eh. As Erk used to say, you got to have money to cheat, and we ain't got any. What I'm hearing about the new staff isn't so much an SEC mindset but more a BVG mindset.
As FCS, Southern would only get $300K-$500K for playing a P5. Now, as FBS, those paychecks are $1M and plus. And they need them. Now, if they can just get the new field turf they put in at Paulson Stadium to not melt players' shoes...

I hear real grass works pretty good...

The best part is that SMU really wasn't that good, for the level of cheating that took place. I mean could you imagine the team Saban would have had if he would be able to cheat to THAT level?!?

I believe he does cheat at that level or at least the boosters at Alabama do with a wink and a nod to him. The NCAA don't care.
