To me McAshans best game was the big comeback against Rice for a 36-36 tie. He played great in the 2H to dig us out of a deep hole.
Probably so, but in addition to his GT record 5 TD passes that afternoon, he also tied the record for INTs set by Jerry Priestley vs Tennessee in 1964 with 5. We were leading big, but the INTs - one a pick6 by their MLB - were the only things keeping Rice in the game, thus setting up Jimmy Robinson & Jim Owings heroics at the end.
I was sitting next to Jerry Priestley in the UW during that game as we were doing a big recruiting weekend that game.
