Georgia\'s Offense...
There's a good thread on the Hive about UGA's offense (or supposed lack thereof).
How would you guys rate their offense? I'd say they have awesome potential. But the recent injuries combined with MR's sometimes odd play-calling keeps opponents in games and keeps them from running up the score. If you look at UGA's offense, they had a really good game against Bama and a great game against KY. Outside of that, they've been hit and miss. In the 2nd half of the Auburn game, they got everything moving. But in the 1st half, they couldn't hardly gain an inch. They've had many other games and stretches of games where they simply looked out of synch.
Part of the problem is their OL. Those guys have gobs of experience. But, for some reason, they haven't been dominant this year. I'm not sure why. They don't run block badly, but not huge holes either. Their pass blocking is good sometimes, but they often look confused by blitzes. Greene ran for his life against Auburn and UF. I think their OL coaching has not been great by any means.
Another problem has been their QB rotation. This Shockley/Greene rotation has not worked. When MR does it, he's doing a favor to the opposition. I hope he does it for our game.
The bottom line is that UGA wins with defense and outstanding special teams. Their defense keeps the game in hand until their Offense figures out something that works. They often don't click until the 2nd half if they click at all. Their kicking game gives them a chance to win when the game is close.
