Geez, folks. It may not be possible to realize goals set at the beginning of the season but that doesn't mean you give up the rest of the games.

Agreed. Though nothing wonderful will come of the rest of the season, it still should be played with a will to win. We are 3-3 but could still win 9 games this season.

I wish I put as much stock in this game as most posters do. Yes, it means a good bit, them being a rival and all. Yes, in a season with little left to salvage it is quite important. But it's smaller to me than most.
 
Beating UGA is one of 3 equal goals, in my opinion:

ACCCG
New Years Day bowl game
Beat UGA

That's been in place since George, and I've never bought out of it.

I speculate that Tech fans who don't value beating Georgia very highly don't live in the State anymore, and don't have to deal with leghumpers on a weekly, daily, or hourly basis.

Believe me. I deal with them. My room mate is one of them. This college (Georgia Southern) is full of them Sunday through Friday. Naturally, we are all Eagles for 4 hours on Saturday. However, after that I go back to a Yellow Jacket and the other 16,999 students turn back to their leg humping roots.
 
Just to let you know, about 95% of the posts on the MD board about the shirts were some variation of how stupid they were and what idiot ordered them. They have evidently been pulled and you can't order the shirt. Not sure if it has something to do with DRad getting to Yow or fans telling them what idiots it made them look like.

Thank you for the email. I will talk with Debbie Yow the Maryland AD. I
agree that a "victory" shirt should talk about the team that
accomplished Victory....not the team that was defeated. Debbie is a very
classy lady and I am sure she will take action.
I take my responsibilty as AD very seriously and will move with
deliberate haste as the season concludes to evaluate the future
direction of the program.

Some of the MD posts on it were pretty funny, although some weren't particularly humorous for Tech fans. But mainly they were directed at their marketing types.

you're a fuggin douchebag. the t-shirt is completely pathetic but not quite as bad as nedleeds.

if they consider this a big enough win to make a shirt about it....shows what a joke their program is. i guess it's just a way to put a little extra money in the coffers. imo it's at the expense of showing that they have absolutely no class.

being that this is "official" maryland gear---i think we may have a new rivalry.


edit--i've seen the shirt has been pulled. my comments against maryland are withdrawn.
