The discussion about potential of a Dome game with UGA to start the year makes me think...

That would be great if Auburn were the opponent and not the Bulldogs.

As an oldtimer, I miss that tremendous rivalry and wish they were on a home and home schedule with Tech every year.

PLEASE leave UGA for Thanksgiving.

Sorry, but this is my first post in years.
:wow:

agreed I would like to play other SEC teams in the college football classic instead of playing UGA, either way its about money

I seriously doubt Auburn will ever play us again.

What about Florida? They may consider it given the hell they've gotten about their schedule. Plus they'd probably love the spotlight in the ATL.

I honestly don't get the desire from GT fans to overload our schedule each year. I want UGA plus 3 cupcakes. That's it. People are giving Florida crap about their schedule and it is really impacting their #1 ranking.

I'd rather be 11-1 or 12-0 playing a soft schedule than 10-2 or 9-3 against a really tough schedule. There is no reward for tough scheduling. PERIOD.

good point but i think if you schedule 2 good ones (UGA and lets say Tennesse) and 2 softies (Jacksonville st. and Emory hehehe) that way it satisfies every one

Nobody is saying they want to schedule Georgia, Florida, Alabama and Southern Cal in the same season. But not all of us want to watch us beat up on Elon, Southern Scientology Academy and West Marietta Recreational every season, either.

And, no surprise, you're assuming that scheduling more difficult games means that we're going to lose them. We're rooting for us to become a great team, and great teams beat other great teams. I'd imagine that a 12-0 school that beat Florida is going to get higher praise from the pollsters than a 12-0 team that beat SE Louisiana.

They might now that Tubberville's gone. He's the one who established the "No Tech" policy after losing twice to Gailey.

Actually in my opinion, the real REWARD is RESPECT. We bitch now because people don't respect us. Hell I wouldn't either with the turds we been laying in our past OOC schedule. Yes it's getting somewhat better but throw away the HS teams we are playing and bring on Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee and Florida on rotating schedules. Add Navy/Army and then bring on a Big East or Big Teneleven school. We need our stadium full on game day and I'm sorry but SC State ain't gonna do it.

I for one didn't have a problem playing in front of a 60/40 crowd in the 80's. All I know is we played some damn good football and it was electric on Saturday afternoons. For the people who remember 1984 kicking Alabama's ass, 86 Tennessee at night, 85 nadlickers at night. Fill the stadium and I'm sure our home crowd will make a presence.

All this shiat and I haven't even started drinking.

Y'all are a bunch of pansy asses.

yes.... YES..... YES!!! Oh my god, somebody email D-Rad now! What if we could open up every year against the tigers... no, nevermind... but one year, yes.

I'd enjoy opening the season against Tenn or Auburn in the dome, and there's incentive there for both of those schools to jump on board. And I think the ASC would support it because both of those schools travel well. UGA really stands to gain nothing from a Tech match up. They'd make more money with an extra home game, and they'd get no recruiting exposure they don't already get.

Besides, with Kiffin in charge, UT's an easier win than scheduling Jax State...

Yeah, I'd even take Ole Miss just to show the world that they're terrible... I can't imagine what the sportswriters would do if we beat them.

"But... but... they beat Florida... and... but... SEC speed... ACC?"

As rough as our offense has looked starting off the last 2 seasons I'm not sure if I want anybody of substance. We'll see if that fades away in future seasons when the players know what they're doing better. But I'd love to play 1 of these in this order: Auburn, Tenn, Florida, USC, Ole Miss, Bama, LSU

Also, I thought the Kickoff game already had games scheduled for the next couple seasons?

Good luck trying to get all these teams on the schedule - they're all trying to lighten up their loads because that's the behavior being driven by the current model.

See Boise State. They may not play in the BCS Championship game but they'll play in a BSC bowl game with the worst scheduling (by far) of any team competing for a BCS bowl game.

See Florida. Dreadful OOC schedule and they can afford to lose any 1 game other than the SEC championship and they'll still be playing in the BCS championship game.
