Give me Dave and Dave!!

Zero chance we ever return to the TO. The rules changed during PJs tenure and made it increasingly difficult execute blocks without being flagged. As to that the inability to recruit defensive players, and it would be 5 wins a season max.
OMG enough with the rule change. You guys sound dumber and dumber everytime you repeat it.

This keeps getting repeated but monken had his best years at army after the rule change. Coach ken had 11 wins at navy post rule change (though that's abnormal for navy now).

#1). Those aren’t P5 conferences.
#2). More importantly, you don’t have to recruit at those programs. Or if you do, you’re not recruiting against southeastern colleges. The players that go to Army and Navy want to be in a service academy which GT is not.

No cutting outside the tackle box means a running back can’t really block a DE or line backer very effectively. Not to mention reduced blocking at the second level. If you are going to have a size and talent disadvantage, you are going to have a hard time being explosive. A good option offense can convert 3rd downs and make 1st downs. But with good blocking ability down field you have explosive plays.

And yet it hasn't made a big difference has it.

Also look at costal who runs similar concepts and they have no issues blocking DE's and db's/lb's down field.

Cut blocking isn't the only way.

And for the millionth time, if mbob didn't intentionally starve the program to force CPJ out, we could have continued the recruiting momentum from the 2010 class, thus becoming less reliant on cut blocking if necessary.

Period

Is it not near job suicidal practice to neglect the football team to losing on purpose?

I always found it slightly suspicious that years when we beat Virginia Poly Frank Beammuh would throw a hissy fit in the media and suddenly in the off season the ACC would decide that blocks that have been used for a century are suddenly "unsafe"...
