Godsey now Baltimore TE Coach

Wonder how he feels about turning Tech down

Probably having to wipe away the tears.

I don't think Godsey has any interest in the college game, though he'd probably take head coach if we ever offered (as that would likely be his only chance at a head coaching job). He just likes to use offers as leverage. Journeyman coach journeys on.

The administration wanted to hire him as OC just like when O’Leary got hired during Billy Lewis’s final season.

I remember reading his senior interview thing in the program for the Georgia game in 2001. I remember that he was overly fixated on talking about chicken wings. Said a bad batch of wings can ruin any day.

You now possess this information.
I cant think of any great days in my life that involved a really ööööty batch of wings

Didn’t he get a two year contract with Miami that was then almost immediately terminated. He banked some money for doing jack öööö. The American Dream.
There he is folks. The Crank Yanker Himself YAYYYYYY

I don’t know who we’re going to get to coach after next year but I’m confident it won’t be Collins or Monken.

He's a Tech man, he was a very good football player for us (for which I appreciate him), and I wish him well and always will. He was also a real student, majoring in computer science, so he's no dummy.

That having been said . . . I am, sadly, a Dolphins fan. He did not cover himself with glory as co-offensive coordinator there. I doubt there are more than a handful of Dolfans who are sad that he is gone. I hope he fares better in Baltimore and wherever he might land after that. I'll always root for him. But at this point I see NO reason why Tech should pursue him now or in the near future for any coaching position.

Make absolutely no mistake that GT's next hire will be an alum or someone who has previously coached here. We are not very creative.
It is like a big circle jerk. Not hiring Mac McWhorter because he was a dawg begat hiring Chan Gailey, which begat the hire of Paul Johnson whose retirement begat the hire of Geoff Collins. Not hiring a particular candidate because they matriculated at U(sic)GA is rather short sighted if they are qualified and are better than the other candidates that are being considered for the job.
