Every GT game should be a Gold Game. Any Tech fan coming to the game wearing a blue shirt should be set home to change.

Why don't we try to get the AA to push the gold every game. If the crowd wants to sit on their hands (as usual) at least we can look good for TV.

I always wear a gold colored shirt for GT games. I think that having a "standard or basic" color for GT fans to wear would be a good thing.

My only problem is that we seem to have multiple shades of gold and yellow. I can't for the life of me understand why the swarm is bright orange/yellow, the band wears a dull yellow uniform and our players wear a (great looking) shade of gold. I would prefer to go w/the gold shade that the players wear, but would be happy if we could agree on a specific shade and stick with it.

Any reason that the GTAA or the powers that be can't go w/an official shade of gold or yellow?

From some link that I have seen, (I think from Goldtimer) blue was the "3rd Color" for GT back in the old days. That is why the football team has worn blue jerseys in the past. I for one like the blue, but I can take it or leave it.

Finally a chance to weigh in....
Blue is bad because it's ubiquitous.
Every HS, former football power,and your aunt Mary wears blue and gold.
Other schools that have gold without blue in their scheme have similar issues with the apropo shade. See Pitt, Navy, Mizzou.
If you're a good Jacket you'll wear something in yellow/gold as long as it's bright and stands out.
Don't get lost in the details. I fell in love with Tech after seeing Wm. Bell run roughshod over Nebraska in Blue Jerseys, but as an undergrad I was in Yellow or White for every game. Follow SHW and just wear a yellow tie.

The habit of GT fans wearing blue to the games started in 1987 when Ross become HC and changed us from the Yellow Jackets to the Blue Jackets. Ross ditched the tradional gold pants in 1988 with us wearing blue jerseys/white pants. While we cherish what Ross did for us in 1989 and 1990 with all the great wins, he really messed up our colors and uniforms. We still to this day have blue trim instead of black trim on our uniforms which was the case before Ross. The buzz logo is displayed blue & yellow half the time and black & yellow the other times due to the confusion.
