I just heard on the hive thast we will wear the gold jerseys with white pants because wake is wearing white away jerseys

Wake did this last time they came to Atlanta. Guess the don't want to wear dark because of the heat.

I don't care what we wear. White or Gold works for me. Let's put it on them!

Go Jackets!

Did anyone see Purdue's gold jersies Saturday night? Man, those were sharp! It actually looked kinda gold....

Why not gold on gold?

Why not! I don't know as though I've seen Gold on Gold at GT. Sounds good to me.

BTW, The Boilers unis looked sharp.

Our gold jerseys are too pale IMHO. They could be a darker, deeper gold to better match the helmet. White helmet with gold jerseys and white pants wouldn't look too bad, either(when GT is forced to wear the gold).

My personal favorate is the blue of Bobby Dodds day. However I like the gold worn in the 60's better than the gold worn now.

Great pics, GSU. When is that first one from? How the heck did they tell 'em apart?

I got them from Goldtimers site. The first one is from the 1940’s I think it is a “BLUEPRINT” scan also. I suppose that since the game was not on T.V. Black & white or color the uniforms were not really an issue as long as the players were not color blind.

That pic from '69 may have been the best game at BDS that I have ever attended....I'll never forget it. Jack Williams scored in the first Quarter I believe (Tech missed the PAT), and we hung on the rest of the game, despite UGA challenging constantly......I recall going down to the field after the game and celebrating with all the "old" lettermen for seemingly hours.

On another note - that shade of gold, to me, represents the true Tech colors - those old gold jerseys got the color down perfectly IMO.....I'd LOVE to see us switch back to that shade of Gold

I agree Gold Rush. Those jerseys are what I always thought to be "old gold".

Carson had one set with black and one set with white numbers. Both looked very good, IMHO.

I was at that 69 game too. It was a nail biter of suspense. It was the old gold of Bud Carson years that was called mustard by my work mates at Southern Railroad. That is how I got my name. I am so accustomed to cheering for the Big Mustards now that you may hear me at some of the games when I get so excited that I lapse into using the name in public.

The shade of gold in CG's game hat is very similar to the 1969 "old gold". The WHITE "GT" shows up on it nicely.

Our uniforms with the gold helmet, white jersey, gold pants are the best in all of college football. BW's right about this.

I believe that Carson's team in '70 wore Gold on Gold a time or two. Think they did against UGAg that year, but it didn't help cause they got blistered... Or was that '68.

Our colors are WHITE and old gold. Our fight song is Up with the WHITE and gold. (by the way, BY FAR the best fight song in all of college sports).

Wearing gold once every two years against Wake is ok but that is about enough.

Our normal uniforms with WHITE jerseys are, in my humble opinion, the best looking uniforms anywhere.

Go Jackets...beat Weak Florist....and beat them just a little bit extra for making us change our uniforms.

Ramblinwise,

I was in school from 1969 to 1973 and don't ever remember gold on gold. I went to every home game and many away games. My memory isn't as good as it used to be, but I think I'd remember that!!

Also in 1970 we beat the pups in Athens 17-7, IIRC. The next year we lost the game on Thanksgiving night when Jimmy Poulos scored late.
