Just curious how the stadium looked in 2009 when we were really good.

I took this pic

@JJacket picture above looks like what I remember. We weren't "really good", we had won one in Athens after a very long losing streak and were favored in the game. The Gold/Red ratio was probably better during the end of O'leary's tenure when UGA was coached by Donnan.

I'm just weary of all the revisionist bullshit from people saying "it's always been this way"

2019 is the worst it's ever been*. Not even just UGA but overall attendance numbers for the season.

*attended every UGA game at BDS since 1997 except for 2017.

We were the highest-ranked one-loss team in the country... 10-1 and ranked #7. How is that not "really good"?

Our most talented team since 90 loses at home to what was at the time their worst team since Donnan’s first year. Our vaunted rushing attack gets outrushed to 205. Absolutely unacceptable.

Johnson had a nice run of chances against down UGA teams and pissed them away. 08-10 should’ve been a three game win streak, end their bowl streak, get Richt fired, and maybe they make a crap hire (maybe Dooley). What could have been...

Because it was a short streak. If you want to change the stadium significantly you need to have more that one prior win over UGA. I would be willing to bet we had more Gold in the stadium in 2001 after the third time we beat UGA during the O'leary years. It was better in 2009 than it was this year though.

UGA @ Notre Dame in 2017. Football consumes their pitiful lives and their money.

Hey, I won't defend a damn thing about mutt fans other than you have to give them credit that their fans are willing to travel and buy tickets to support the team. I wish we could get Tech fans to have a similar mindset.

Yeah, in 2019 it was bad. The amount of red has been exaggerated in the past. Attendance was bad in 2018 and the trend has been bad. That wasn't because of Collins. We had pretty good attendance (relatively) early in the season and did sell more season tickets this year but as the season progressed, people stayed home.

Well certainly, but in the past 25 years that was a high water mark for our team (evaluated at the time of a UGA game at Grant Field), so it's a valid point of comparison.
