Sims was hit in the face by the fist of the defender. That is called roughing the passer every time.

The non called hold on our DB out of bounds in the second half was a huge non call.

One of our only stops in the second half was because UVA couldn't convert after a 5 yard penalty (false start, I think). The announcers even went as far as calling out one of the holds against us as BS and calling the hold of our DB as a call that was missed

The refs gave us some gifts too. That first Sims INT that was negated by the roughing the passer penalty was very questionable.

A comeback isn't just when a team takes a lead in the first half. UVA put some first half drives together

Our defense has them backed up to their goal line late in the game and allowed then to go 95-ish yards for a score. Unacceptable

Yes we need to be +3 on possessions to have a fighting chance.

I think anything less than 4th and 4 we should go for if we are inside the 45.

I think we definitely should look at random onside kicks depending on the personnel the other team has in place. Walk Ons and back up LBs opposing us? Try it.

I'm seeing what I hoped to see this year, which is the team continue to make progress and become competitive again. I think we can all agree we have progressed the roster to that point where we are no longer the worst team talent wise in the ACC and maybe we are now somewhere close to the middle. Three years ago we were arguable the least talented team in the ACC and we cant forget that is why we needed to make a change. Obviously we want to win vs just being competitive and perhaps that is where I am disappointed in the defense has been the major issue this year, unexpectedly. I thought our defense would carry us this year while we wait for our offense to come around. Instead, the offense has become explosive and Sims is turning into a dangerous QB but then the defense just cant get any stops against anybody. I dont know if it is the scheme or if we are still a few players away from being a good defense or maybe a combination of both?
