Got a close buddy with Miami ties

He is a damn dirty double talking dwag. Do not want. Hate is great.

I also don't think he would be successful in this environment where football is not above academia.

I just checked with my sources at the Turkish consulate in Miami. They said they have an audio recording of Richt discussing with close associates about several meetings with Stansbury and the move to Tech at the end of the season. The conversation was recorded through a third party recording app on an Apple Watch worn by one Richt's associates, who was picked up by Turkish intelligence officers right outside Azucar gay nighclub on 32nd street and the recording was analyzed at the consulate. My sources are reporting that the Turkish intelligence officers initially meant to detain a Saudi operative implicated in Khashoggi case but picked up the wrong guy instead. The Richt associate was subsequently released after discovery of the mistake and given a gift card for one free gyro at any Turkish consulate as an apology for wrongful detainment.

This is Akinji reporting from CNN Atlanta.
Fake news

After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

Real classy guy.

I can't believe he didn't bring his own bag to the store and is responsible for more plastic waste.

I'm of the opinion as well that once a dwag always a dwag and don't want him. Who's next? Are we gonna offer Herschel Walker too? It's retarded. The guy coached georgia for 14 years. One he's not gonna come here even if we offered, and two we shouldn't offer him in the first place. The coach becomes the face of the program. You want the guy who started your losing streak against uga at home for 17 ööööing years? Get your öööö mind rite.

The last head coach we hired that was a former UGA coach worked out so well.

He was also a former GT assistant, very well liked by GT players of that era - including me - on both sides of the ball.

Things certainly went south in a lot of ways after the "Charlie Ward wins the Heisman/OnsideKickNonRecoveryThatReallyWasARecovery" FSU game, and that's all that matters. I get it.

But as the 1991 National Coach of the Year, he was considered by many the best available when Boss Ross bolted for the NFL after the 1991 GT season.

Bottom line: It's always a crapshoot.

I like how everyone now just assumes CPJ is gone and has moved on to who's next.

[Tinfoil hat on]

We have a two prong rumor.
Richt wants to leave UM
Richt wants to coach GT

--------------
Prong 1

There are only two reasons to leave UM. Conflict with the boss/mgt
Conflict with the players

The first is obvious to anyone who ever had a job. Its possible there is a bad situ there.

The second is unlikely because its a pretty short timeframe and the players you inherited are gone and you got new players. But anyone who has worked in mgt knows shitty employees make for a miserable existence.

The first aint crazy people. Aint crazy.
--------------------

Prong 2
This is where I am stuck. Why come to GT? Why?

Brainstormed possibilities:
1. Has a very positive relationship with our mgt (i.e. Stansbury) Im obviously unaware of (not privy to).
2. Misses the area (more likely the family might want back in this area).
3. Is sick of a career of managing thugs and has long recognized one of the few advantages of GT is you get to work with really fine young men top to bottom.
4. Wants to work somewhere high profile with low expectations.
5. There is some bad blood I am unaware of related to him leaving and he wants to beat UGA.

If the answer was 5 he should theoretically go to USC or Tennessee. It would have to be a combo (or a so intense #5 that he doesnt just want to beat them, he wants to hurt them beyond recognition)

---------------
Conclusion: wanting out of Miami is not crazy talk.
Wanting into GT is possible but approaching tinfoil hat territory.

-----------------

Now allow me to share my opinions
1. Guy has the recruiting connections to turn our recruiting around immediately. He knows it. We wouldnt have more talent cause we cant take imbiciles, but the gap would be the smallest since Ross.

2. With our budget, he would need to come cheap and spend on assistants. The dwag anecdote above makes that less than crazy.

3. He would have a positive impact in the battle for unaffiliated fans. Not overwhelming, but positive.

4. I'm always skeptical of old coaches having the drive necessary.

5. Dude can coach QBs. You dont just lose that. We would land decent gunslinger QBs and they would develop.

Interesting.

I’d rather find a new team to root for than have Rev. richt as our coach, F that dawghumper

Caveat: I don't believe this. I don't believe any of it, but....

If he wants out of Miami there are a limited number of places to go, and GT may be the best opportunity out there. If I'm him, I put out feelers saying that I'm interested just in case there's nothing better available (and even if there is, a GT offer is a negotiating point with another school).

As far as my opinion, I'm willing to sell my soul to win games. I would take Lucifer if he could get us to a NY6 Bowl on the regular.

It doesn't take as much tinfoil as one may believe. Like crew says, a combination of any of his scenarios would make it logical. Also, a person of his age and stature may have something else to prove. He's proven he's a winner. He may want to prove he can win anywhere. He may want to prove that he can bring recruits into a place like GT. He may want to prove that you don't have to rely on scheme to win you games at a school that doesn't get top 10 recruiting every year. Lots of reasons an older, proven coach could want to come here. Some like a challenge.

Does GT have a diving facility? If so then he is alllllllllll good!

John Dewberry takes exception to your "always a dwag" statement
