2022 season preview series begins as we sit down with GT Head Coach Geoff Collins & talk about what we expect from the Yellow Jackets this season.

At the end of the show Gramlich & Mac Lain both pick Georgia Tech for 2 wins.... Crazy!

I can't see any reason to expect differently. They really didn't cover the OL, though. I personally think they also glanced over the 2 starters returning on each side issue.

I mean 2 starters on each side can be bad but from last season it really can't be that bad.

People keep saying that, but the data is pretty clear that returning production is predictive of whether a team's results will improve or decline.
I mean Tech has had great seasons with low returning production 00, 08, 11, 14

Granted 2011 was 8 wins but that seems great now.

I'm excited to see what effect Weinke will have on Sims. I'm starting to sip the juice a little bit now, but we'll see...
Not sure how much it will help. If the O line can't block, it doesn't matter. Something my old coach used to say. If a QB is on his ass, he can't complete a pass. I truly hope that Sims has a breakout year. Lord knows that young man should be rewarded, for not bailing on us.

Yea, that's ridiculous--even for a Collins coached team. I think 5 wins is realistic, especially when four of the teams Tech will be facing have new head coaches

True...bet there are lots of question marks for this team...its hard to fault outside analysts for their predictions.
We have some good transfers on the O-line but its a team game and these transfers, while talented, must be a cohesive unit and that takes time.
As Brice Koon pointed out. Collins may be out of runway.

I sure other will argue but he probably isn’t the worst coach in the conference. There’s 1 win in the bag. We’ll out-talent Dook and Western. That brings us to 3 wins. Odds are we get lucky in 1 game to get us to 4. It’s only a minor dream to believe we can get lucky twice and win 5.

Doesn't mean they don't know what they're doing.
It doesn't take much to outcoach Collins.

It's so hard for me to listen to collins speak right now...I feel like he's just always blowing smoke up everyone's butt.
Yeah, I won't do it. Since I cannot believe a word he says, I am going to generate my own hype and lies for this season.

It's tough to take Mac Lain seriously now too ("you're doing a great job, Coach!")
Yes, the defense played well against Clemson. But Clemson stunk on offense, and nobody else seemed to have trouble moving the ball against that 4-2-5 the rest of the year. At least it created turnovers against UNC. The rest of the time, though ... it was bad. Epically bad.

You forget that we ran 3-3-5 for a few games starting with that clemson game
