Great Pick up for 09

We've been stuffing the run with LB run blitzes for years, and getting burnt by OCs who figure out how to run away from the blitz. Clemson 2 years ago, UVA 3 years ago, UGA last year.

I'd love to be able to stuff it with four linemen, and leave our LBs to cover tight ends and stuff. Or to get sacks without having to blitz. Man, when's the last time we got a coverage sack? It's been decades.
 
Exactly beej, we've had to sell out to stop the run which has left us vulnerable to the pass. People love to hate on our DBs, but pass coverage from our LBs has been bad for years. Partly because they aren't there since they're blitzing, but partly because there is too much territory to cover for the ones not blitzing.

That is exactly right.

GA is extremely deep with talented and also of academic quality.

Plus...GA only has 15 ships to offer...and we have 25.

This should be a year of no excuses to hit the state of Georgia hard.

A huge pickup. I havent talked to the kid or anyone about him. I was just wondering if how firm he is commited. If ugay offers and the will do you think he takes a look at them. With him making his commit to us i dont think so but i just wanted to know if anybody else knew anything
 
I'm not hating on Tenuta's schemes. Don't get me wrong. Leading the nation in sacks and TFLs *is* pretty cool, and if we had Marv Hester and Kenny Scott at corner last year we would have been brutal. And I used to hate watching the O'Leary Base 4-3 drop linebackers into spaces where they were useless. But even so, I'm stoked to have a big DL for once. This will be the first time in my memory we'll have 2 guys over 300 on the DL.
