Greatest High School player in State History?

Lots of good ones mentioned, only OLD folks will remember Johnny Lipsey a truly great running back at Tifton around 1949,1950. Bill Stanfill at Cairo, kid at SW Macon in the 1970's but I can't recall his name was it Anthony Flanagan??? , Stan Rome at Valdosta , Ken Hobby at Tift County,Walter Sumner at Irwin County was darn good, Jack Paulk at Fitzgerald,Tommy Lawhorne at Worth County.

Runt Moon was good too! In jail for life, but at the time he was a GREAT Tiger!

I have heard the stoies about Herschel driving a Trans AM his freshman year(CONFIRMED) & mom and dad moving up the road but where are they now. Most on here have never been near Johnson County. Has Herschel sent a dime to this place? If he has they ate it up and spent it on crack or something. I kind of don't blame him for running from this place.

Timmy Smith from Central Gwinnett in '94. Couldnt stay out of trouble or would have set all of the records. Watched on film run for 221 yards.... in the first quarter of a game. We played them the following week. Took it 80 yards to the house on the first play. Had 2 more 70+ yard runs against us that night. Oh, .....and he was only a Sophmore. Got kicked out of school the following year and never played again. Freaking incredible player.

A lot of folks that seriously follow Georgia HS football would second this. Kid was incredible. Such a waste of talent.

Well you're a Tech fan. Stop spelling like a retard. I hate ööööing people who can't ööööing spell simple words. Go be a Dwag fan ööööhead!

Hell, now the biggest prick on the ööööing board chimes in....super asshole.

Stan Rome was a great player at Valdosta - the best HS receiver that I remember. Anthony Flanagan was a QB from Southwest Atlanta, now Mays. He threw to Reggie Wilkes on a great HS football team. Both of them were just as good at basketball.

See JJacket its very easy. Stick to words you know or look up the ones you don't before you go acting smart using words you don't know. If you can't spell naïve well that just seems like a bad joke- on you when you spell it wrong

Dumbass can't spell naïve and starts calling other people names.... Since you can spell dick and öööö maybe move up to double vowel words like douchebag (and naïve)

I'd have to go with the Dwag Walker from Wrightsville on this one.

Didn't Stan Rome play for Clemson? Seems I remember him nearly beating us in the early 70s making some great catches.

I called you a name prick, stop making it look like I dragged anyone else into this. Prick.

Warner robins had one of the best teams in Ga ever in 75 or so.2 guys on that team were AMAZING- a RB who went to awbern and MG who went to fsu. Can't recall names but they have to be in the list.

James Brooks went on to Auburn and later the Bengals. Best HS FB player I've ever seen. Ron Simmons was the lineman who went to FSU, maybe the best DL I've seen in HS. The FB was Jimmy Womack (I believe) who was a starter on Ga.'s NC team. That team was loaded. Brooks was unreal quick.

I dont know who was the greatest but, Brown High in West End had a ton of great players years ago in the late 50s and during the sixties.

Went to SHS in the early 60's. I thought I was pretty good no matter what the coaches thought.
