Honestly? Syracuse was 3-9 last year...
Wow,the last time Syracuse had a decent team was when The Jackets beat them 13-7 in the Meadowlands in 2001. Syracuse went 10-3 that Year.

Seems to me you're the one reading more into this than was intended. I haven't seen anyone suggest what Paulus is doing isn't impressive....but what MANY are arguing is your characterization of Syracuse as decent. The are D1-A (or bowl championship division or whatever the NCAA calls it now). They should not be compared to D1-AA teams. They are NOT decent, they are a bad team trying to get better. That argument just makes your original statment that much weaker...as it infers a lack of understanding of college football realities. If Paulus can help them get to decent, after not playing for 5 years or whatever, he will have done one of the more remarkable jobs in college football history.Man! You guys kill me with the inability to infer a general concept and to understand plain english. As definined by webster, decent means: "fairly good, adequate, satisfactory". From Jeff Sagarin's 2008 rankings of all D-1 NCAA teams, Syracuse was ranked 104 of out 245. When taken in perspective to the fact that there are also 148 D-II football teams and 199 D-III football teams it would seem reasonable to believe that a ranking of 104 out of 592 could be considered "decent" or "fairly good". 99.99% of people in this country could not play QB for a single of those 592 teams. And of that .01% of people who can, he is still roughly in the top 20% of them.
So many you guys are a bunch of jealous, nit-picky, arrogant haters that want to do nothing but call people out and not give credit where credit is due. The kid played at one of the best BBall programs in the country, and now after a 5 year hiatus, he's earned a starting spot one of the better (by that I mean top 20% of all college teams) college football teams in the country. It's admirable and I personally am not afriad to admit that I am impressed.
Actually I was making a joke since my avatar doesn't have anything to do with gt...or football...and it certainly hasn't been anything of quality the past three years. I don't really mind GSU's avatar.
