- proven winner at a disadvantaged program

- proven recruiter

- head coaching experience

- hungry to prove himself
 
Don't care about the pedo baloney allegations bc I don't believe 'em. I don't want 'em because he left Rutgers too soon, failed in the NFL, and hasn't been spectacular anywhere else. Also, hard to imagine a place more culturally different from GT than Rutgers. And I don't like his face.

I'll let it stew and see if I can come up with other reasons.
 
We should want him just for his track record of attacking knees. Kneel downs will no longer be "game over"
 
Briles is too old to bring in. He's older than CPJ. I prefer Clemson's OC

Yes. Saban would have a difficult time transitioning to GT. I'd rather have a younger coach. Elliot is where I'd put my cards.

I like Elliot, but he’s probably the biggest risk of the candidates named. It could work in our favor (he could make GT the next Clemson) or it could blow up in our faces when we fire him after 3 seasons.

Art Briles is high reward, low risk. Kendal can take over when Art retires.

An institution’s head coach is presumed to be responsible for the actions of all institutional staff members who report, directly or indirectly, to the head coach. An institution’s head coach shall promote an atmosphere of compliance within his or her program and shall monitor the activities of all institutional staff members involved with the program who report, directly or indirectly, to the coach.

Art Briles would probably be met with campus protests and turn off potential recruits. Elliot could go into a young black athlete's living room and talk with momma about how he overcame the odds, got and Industrial Engineering Degree, decided to get into coaching and work hard, do the right thing and eventually became the head coach of Georgia Tech - the last I remember, the FBS school that has a high graduation rate for black athletes and a school that produces successful black engineers and businessmen.

Now sell old man Art to me in that situation

So he’s responsible for things he didn’t know that were intentionally not provided to him by people who didn’t work for him. Total bullshit.

I agree with you on Elliott, but that doesn’t deminish Briles’ record and accomplishments at Baylor. He took a perrenial powderpuff and made it a power house. No one else on the coaching options list has done that. Protests won’t happen.

Protests will be two fold.
1) He ran an out of control program that recruited thugs
2) We just hired an old fart to coach the team
