really seems like we are bringing in some quality athletes. When you see these true freshman contribute you know recruiting is headed in the right direction.

This years class is looking really good once again. So far, we have 15 verbals. We had 14 verbals at this point last year and I have a feeling that we may be getting some good news from Brandon Thompson very soon. As you mentioned, we have already seen how special some of last year's freshman are. If we can continue to string together some good classes like these two, we will be a real contender real soon.

Right now, we need to land some offensive linemen, defensive linemen, defensive ends, and tight ends. Here are ten names to keep an eye on:

Brandon Thompson
Corey Liuget
Dont'a Hightower
Greg Shaw
Hubie Graham
Kenneth Page
Omoregie Uzzi
Michael Williams
T.J. Barnes
William Green

We have a much better chance with some than with others, but we need as many off of this list as we can get.

Does anybody know if Mesh Wokomaty ever received a committable offer?

Wokomaty does not have an offer yet.

On your list above you can remove Quentin Williams.

DT Brandon Thompson could provide good news earlier than expected.

Other than that...

TE's- Hubie Graham (11/24 visit), Donta Hightower, Chase Thomas

TE or DE- Michael Williams and Undra Billingslea (11/24 visits for both...current Alabama commits.

OL- Kenneth Page (11/24 visit), Gregory Shaw, Dalton Freeman, Mesh Wokomaty (no offer), plus one or two more being looked at

OL or DT- Omoregie Uzzi (11/24), TJ Barnes (11/24...looks good despite father and uncle playing at Auburn)

DE- Corey Liuget (looks promising), William Green (longshot but still in it)

LB- Etienne Sabino (11/17 visit)

CB- T'Sharvan Bell

oops...I meant Michael Williams, not Quentin Williams. However, I was not aware that he and Undra Billingsley would be visiting for the Georgia game. That is good.

I was talking about T'Sharvan Bell a couple of days ago. I was hoping that we would still take him if he wanted to be a Jacket. I think that he would be an outstanding corner prospect.

How receptive has Chase Thomas been to playing Tight End?

Do our current commits have the same togetherness as last year's group. I believe that aura was very attractive to recruits on the fence last year and helped us land some of the late ones.

Do we look like we're in good shape for a strong stretch run again?

The "stretch run" is definitely taking form if you ask me. As far as the togetherness of this class, Kyle Jackson '07 = Chris Jackson '08. I am always seeing him online trying to talk guys into Tech. I think that he was a major factor in the committment of Sylvester.

Shaw is most likely not going to happen, his interest seems to be fading which is why they are staying in contact with Wokomaty. Some people I talked to Saturday said they were just waiting to see some more film and then they would offer I think its only his first year of football. Were probably only gonna take 23 commits so we have 8 spots left.

my guess would be:
1. Thompson
2. Uzzi
3. Page
4. Sabino
5. Liuget
6. Barnes
7. Wokomaty
8. Graham or another TE

T'sharvan Bell is still a possibility as well.

With the right athletes...we could push the count almost as high as we want to by having some in early or whatever. We have 11 empty spots now and 18 seniors on scholarship....which is 29 spots. However, as we all know you are limited to 25 in one year...and we have Tyler Melton coming in January counting against last years class.

Last years class was 19 (not including Melton)...but two came in early...so that left us 2 under the NCAA cap of 19.

Therefore Melton will take one of those. Sabino could take the other as he will enroll in January wherever he goes. If not...someone else could take it.

That would allow us to go to 26 to max out the ships...but it also would not allows us to bring in anyone early next year or add walk-on's like Scott Blair in the fall. That is why you hear the 22-24 number.

Is there ANY chance we could get this pile o' potential to walk on?

Doesnt sound like it anymore, a while back I think the staff was thinking that but now more schools are becoming involved. I believe I heard he has an official coming up at UNC, I will have to check tomorrow but I think the teams were up against are Southern Miss, Louisville, UNC, Tennessee and Central Florida. He is likely to be getting some big offers soon so I doubt he would walk on. Keep in mind I believe he has only played a few games that is why he hasn't gotten an offer yet, this is his first year of football. I got the chance to talk to him the other day at the Clemson game he is a large man.

I hope we get a couple 4-star DBs

Kyle, many of these guys will be reranked before signing day, so we don't really know how many 4 stars we have. Besides, when you're ranked 17 it's not the time to moan about 4 stars son, it's time to SWAGGER!!!!!!!!

Ya but some of these 4-star guys could become 3-star as well. It all evens out.

SEMIFULL SWAGGERTIME starts when we are ranked 15 and increases exponentially as we move higher. ;)

The QB from AZ (Renfree) was a 4 star when he committed to us, but then shortly after Rivals bumped him down to 3 stars; it was supposedly b/c he struggled at the Elite 11, but I think committing to GT had something to do with it as well, since GT hardly has any Rivals subscribers. Take a look at the Rivals GT message board: it is the most pathetic thing you will ever see.
