GT + 8 Week 1

You didn’t notice a change on the field last year when he took over? Even with QBs 2, 3, and 4 taking the bulk of the snaps in all of those games?
Wasn’t talking about me, I don’t set betting lines. I’m fairly certain damn near nobody follows GT football more closely than the maybe 1-2k diehard fans that frequent message boards, actually plan to attend games or watch on tv, read the news about the team, etc.

I got no idea what’s happening at Vandy, Az St, Kansas, Rutgers, etc because it’s of no interest to me. I suspect neither do most of the people betting but the money says no change at GT. When they realize they’re wrong, it will change. People will say a lot of stuff, but what they do with their money is a window into what they’re really thinking.

I gotcha, but damn gambling degenerates ought to look more closely at Louisville going 6-7 last season, and Key going 4-4 with wins over ranked opponents. I am about to talk myself into being a gambling degenerate on labor day weekend.

A different topic but I hope Sims gets lit up at Nebraska. Yes, it chapped my tail when he transferred but it really frosted my butt when he refused to go on the field when the coaches told him to. I know I’m from a different era but could you imagine a player telling Bear Bryant “No” when asked to take the field? Heck … they would have taken the field with a broken leg. Like I said … different era.
Jack Youngblood Man that is the first name I thought of. Not any players like that that I've seen.

I’m with you. Was going to put $1k down on GT, then wondered if I’d be better betting on Louisville and then losing so I’d be happy GT won and not so pissed off I lost $1k. Despite the good odds, I have a hard time believing GT can win AND I win a bet at same time. In the end, I don’t gamble not so much because I’m afraid of losing money but more that I’ll jinx GT. I don’t mind betting on other stuff, but GT is off limits. I did bet a mutt buddy years ago (the Buttkicker game) that I’d wear an imbecile hat all day at work if uga won, he’d wear a GT hat if GT won. What a big pussy he tried to hide all day and welch on the bet. Got the CEO to get people to call him all over the site all afternoon. UF alums hate them mutts almost as much as we do.

Biggest myth in gambling history. They buy each other's action if they get too overloaded on a particular game and are worried about taking too much public action. But the average public bettor bets almost 70% on favorites and almost 70% on overs across the board. At a 20% split on both of those bets vs their 50/50 likelihood, don't have to be a mathematician to see how that works out to their advantage over just dime or nickel lines.
Maybe the casual gamer...not those that do it weekly, yearly.

Yearly reminder that the line is to get the money bet even on both sides, not to predict the score

It usually happens that the number to get the bets even is close to what you'd expect the score to be, to make picking a side difficult, but the betting public may not know what they are doing.
And betting public backs favorites, bigger names/brands + high profile QBs. So UNC lines will skew their direction.

People have forgotten 5 years ago when we had real practices. They're expecting us to come out soft, have a game or 2 where we either physically overmatch our opponent like Sc St or we muster up enough pride to play hard and have a chance to win. Key needs to prove it with results on the field before these things change.
4-4 with 2 wins over ranked opponents, starting QB out and playing 4th string QB at times. You’d think Key would get some respect.

That said, I like him getting disrespected. He seems like a vengeful man. His favorite God is the Old Testament God.
