Hey, it's the offseason. In an attempt to get us through the final week before frosh report, here's some ATS (against the spread) info regarding Tech...

From Marc Lawrence Playbook...

Tech 8-0 ATS before Virginia (Tech at Maryland Oct. 17)

Host in Tech-Wake series 7-0 ATS (Wake at Tech Oct. 5)

Tech 5-0 ATS away vs. non-conference opponent (Tech at UConn Sep. 7 and Tech at UGA Nov. 30...*note Syracuse game last year officially at neutral site as opposed to "away" game - Tech was -7.5 and won game by 6 losing ATS)

Dog is 4-0 ATS in last 4 in GT-UGA series

Tech 6-1-1 ATS next game after Duke (Tech at UGA Nov. 30)

Tech 10-2 ATS in 1st of back-to-back road games (Tech at UConn Sep. 7)

Tech 10-2 ATS as home underdogs off back-to-back straight up wins (FSU at Tech Nov. 9 maybe off wins at Maryland and vs. UVa???)

Tech 5-1 ATS vs. .333 winning percentage or less team

Host in Tech-Duke series is 5-1 ATS last 6 years

Tech 3-15-1 ATS as non-conference home favorites (Vandy at Tech Aug. 31 and BYU at Tech Sep. 21)

Tech 1-10 ATS as favorites 9 points or less (???)

Tech 10-4 ATS as road underdogs since 1997 (Tech at Clemson Sep. 14???, Tech at UNC Sep. 28???, Tech at Maryland Oct. 17???, Tech at NCST Nov. 2???, Tech at UGA Nov. 30???)

Tech-Clemson game has resulted in the winner by margin of 3 points last 6 years straight

Tech outgained its opponents in yardage 8 of 12 games last year.

Tech had only 2 games last year where it turned the ball over more than 2 times in a game (3 at Duke and 6 vs. Maryland)

Tech's opponents only had 2 games last year where it turned the ball over more than 2 times per game (5 by Navy and 3 by NC State)

Tech's yards per rush on offense: 1999 = 4.8, 2000 = 3.9, 2001 = 3.4

Tech's yards per rush allowed on defense: 1999 = 4.3, 2000 = 2.7, 2001 = 3.3

Tech's total yards per game on offense: 1999 = 501, 2000 = 425, 2001 = 417

Tech's total yards allowed per game on defense: 1999 = 415, 2000 = 379, 2001 = 335

(*note: looking at recent trends, Ted Roof was doing a pretty darn good job)

Tech has scored 20 or more points in 45 of its last 49 regular season games. Pretty incredible when you stop and think about it.

Tech has scored 30 or more points in 34 of its last 49 regular season games. Again, pretty darn good. Tech is 35-14 (60% winning pct.) straight up record in those 49 games. You would think if you score 30 or more in almost 60% of your regular season games, you ought to have a higher winning percentage.

Last year Tech scored 30 or more points in "only" 6 of its 12 regular season games. No Fridge, yet we had practically everybody back on offense.
