Our prayers (particularly those of The Jacket) have been answered, but not by GT nor the Big Guy. UGA's AA decided against doing it because they didn't want to switch the rotation. They initially liked the idea of COFH being played in the GA Dome (where they would undoubtedly have more fans) then playing in Athens in 2012, but GT wanted to get UGA at home in the even years... UGA didn't want that, so they shot it down, and apparently it won't be discussed again.

OMG YES!!!!!

The Jacket will be totally ecstatic over this. I thought for a while there he was about to have a heart attack.

So um...is it really allowed for me to be grateful to U[sic]GA for something?

Yay no national tv exposure awesome!!!!11!!!!111!1

Look at it like this: the deal fell through because those obnoxious pieces of **** in Athens expected US to give up OUR home game at BDS in order to move the game to the Dome and we told them and CFA to go **** themselves. No need to have warm fuzzy feelings about the mutts. How dare those turds expect US to screw away OUR home game. If we had done what they wanted, we would have waited FOUR YEARS after this year's game for our next game with them at BDS. We stood up and did the right thing; that's the way I see it.

Yay, no playing a powerful team first week of the season on national TV after most of what might be considered one of the most productive Football student classes in Georgia Tech history graduate.

No. They expected us to give up our home game in 2012 and play in Athens the next year. The whole point of this for Tech was to get the UGA game in the even years so that season-ticket holders wouldn't just by them in odd years when we have Clemson, VT, and UGA at home.

They denied it for selfish reasons, not to preserve the rivalry.

Last line of the article:

Stokan said he'll continue to talk with Tech and Georgia about a season-opener in the Dome "in some future year against some opponent," although not against each other.

Looks to me like we can get early season exposure AND preserve tradition.

switching home games to odd years would have messed up their schedule
