GT/UGA will NOT be played in the GA Dome!

Great news. As I have suggested elsewhere, the "balance" problem with our schedule, if we have one, can be corrected within our own AA and the ACC offices. While I don't doubt that those of you who supported playing the 2011 game at the start of the season in the dome were acting in what you believed to be GT's best interests, I am surprised at some of the statements here damning uga for acting in what they believe to be their best interests. We need to quit bitching and moaning about our schedule, blaming our ticket sales and attendance problems on others, and come to BDS to see the Yellow Jackets play and win against whomever is on the schedule. Wins fill the stadium a lot more consistently than opponents do.

This sucks. This would've been very good for our program in more ways than balancing the schedule. It's too bad you "who moved my cheese" folks couldn't recognize it. Hell, even UGA recognized it would be better for us than them.

Good.

I wouldnt mind playing at Clemson two years in a row to "make the schedule more balanced"

Yay, no playing a powerful team first week of the season on national TV after most of what might be considered one of the most productive Football student classes in Georgia Tech history graduate.

Good point! Not sure what kind of a team we'll have once our current Juniors graduate.

If we can keep ALL of our juniors, I have a feeling we'll be making a run at the national title.

We may have a chance, however our defense better improve tremendously for us to have a legitimate shot at the MNC. You can't win a NC unless you have a great defense.

Sorry bud... have been to your tailgate before and know you do GT right but... if the chick fil e folks don't want us unless they get GT vs ugag and bend tradition. It is time for GT to make itself more attractive, not for us to cower to them. How about we get a game against say Auburn. Guys these boys want to sell chicken sandwiches and until GT can sell alot of chicken sandwiches they dont want us. They didnt want us last year for the chicken bowl and we sold more tickets than the other.

BINGO! Unless they can match GT against a SEC opponent who will fill the Dome (and hotels) we will NEVER be part of that game. Our best chance to participate would be against Tennessee, Florida, Auburn or Alabama.

Perhaps DRAD can strike a three game series against one of the three (Neutral, Away, Home). Think about it though it needs to be in a year where expectations are low. In two years, after the current juniors are no longer there, a schedule that includes VT, The U, Clemson, UNC, Georgia and, for example, Alabama, will be more than our depth take and will send us to a 6-6 season (or worse).

I doubt seriously the Alabama scenario, but either Tennessee, Florida or Auburn would be an absolute dream.

The problem is the asshole swofford will not do right by Tech.
While I will heap tons of blame on that ****stick, I can't see how this is his fault.

Tech should look into giving Clemson a freebie home game to balance the schedule, or play them on a neutral field. We could probably do the same with VPI, although I generally think of a bunch quaint, polite yokels when I think of Clemson, and a bunch of cock-magnet pieces of dog **** when I think of VPI. So I think CU would be easier to get this arranged with.

I would like to see a GT/Tenn or GT/Aub in the Peach Bowl to open the season.

That is my point. There was no way ugag was going to give up a home game in 2012. This was idiotic thinking.

The problem is our ACC schedule balance. And the little girl is the one who can fix it, even if it means playing 2iar at CU.

The ahole in Greensboro is the one that can fix the schedule problem we have, not ugag

Of course the same ACC that made us play 2 years in a row at VT could make Clemson play 2 in a row in ATL:) I know the conference expansion caused this but there are other things that could be changed to help this out.

The last 2 years were OK because we had Florida State in the rotation with Clemson. With Clemson being our out of division rival game they could replace Clemson for a year to straighten the schedule out for us if they wanted to. Although I understand the reasoning, I personally don't think the "rival" games make for a fair conference schedule anyway.

These are just random thoughts. I really didn't feel strongly about the UGA game or the Schedule as the strength of teams seems to change annualy except for one or two.

the ACC has already set the conference rotation through the 2015. Link:

They aren't going to force another ACC team to come to Atlanta two years in a row. And we aren't going to spend the money to travel to an ACC opponent two years in a row. That train has left the station boys.

This was a unique opportunity to re-balance our own home schedule @ BDS, gaining a boatload of cash and plenty of primetime exposure.

The fact that Georgia (not Georgia Tech) passed on the deal is very telling.

Every Tech fan I talked to was against the idea, and now the dissenters have their way. Yesterday, Georgia AD Damon Evans told the Atlanta Sports Council "Thanks, but no thanks." It doesn't take a genius to figure out that what Evans really means is: "We thought we'd be able to get away with Tech losing a home game in 2011 and just pick it up like normal in Athens for 2012, but that Radakovich guy is a real pistol in negotiations. Bummer. I miss Dave Braine. I sleep with the light on because Paul Johnson frightens me." Don't feel ashamed, Mr. Evans. Everybody knows that when the Boogeyman goes to bed, he checks his closet for Paul Johnson.

I don't know this blogger, but I like the cut of his jib.
