Comments? Your rankings??

Nice figures. I agree for the most part although I would rate this years receivers ahead of '99.

Just me though.

That was a tough call on the WRs. Obviously, the '02 bunch has a lot more depth, but I felt that I would give the nod to the '99 group because they had two bonafide superstars in White and Campbell. This unit has 4 very good talents in Glover, Smith, Curry, and Watkins but I'm not sure any of them are as dominate as White and Campbell were. Still you are probably right to say the '02 unit is better.

Axe,
It'd take me a long time to come up with a list like that. One thing I'd switch though is QB. I actually like Joe better in '98 than '99. In '99, I know his stats were awesome and he was great, but he made more mistakes I thought that year than in '98 (more fumbles and ints). In '98, he was still great statistically, but he seemed to take better care of the ball.

Whaddaya think?

Hard to play much better than Godsey did in 2000. Just a crying shame that he got his knee hurt.

Bug,

Wow, that is a tough call. Personally, I think Joe had a lot more pressure on him in '99. He was expected to put 7 points on the board virtually every time we had the ball. I believe this caused the increase in unforced errors. The times that I thought Joe had trouble was when the defense was melting down and the pressure was on. However, when Joe was on in '99, I never saw anything like it(FSU, Clemson, UGA he was unreal. His best games of '98 were UNC and second half of UVA. Still those performances didn't compare to '99.

Beeware,

I assume you meant Godsey in 2000 not '01. Yes, Godsey was tremendous in 2000, but I still have to give the nod to Joe in '99 and '98. If the '99 Joe had the '00 defense there would be some serious hardware in the Edge Center right now;-)

Axe,

Also, I agree with you about the DL rankings. If not for injuries, last year would have been our best LB corps, IMO. But due to injuries, I agree that they are moved below the 2000 unit.

Man, as you said above. Take that 2000 defense and combine with Joe Hamilton on O...we win some kinda championship.
