GT vs. Fresno State

yeah food is pretty good at rocky mountain. I like the atmosphere too. They have several Philadelphia eagles fliers there, so it's probably not a good spot for falcon fans.

Of all the places in Atlanta that I miss hanging out at, I'd say that Rocky Mountain is a close second, behind only the Varsity. $10 for a pitcher and a plate of hot wings. Don't know about these days, but a couple of years back the waitresses were pleasant on the eyes as well. My brother and I would get good and lubricated there before almost every sporting event we could. Please tell that a pitcher of High Life is still $4.

Bradleys is carpet-bombed with UGA paraphernalia all over the walls and whatnot, and their 'cheese steak' sandwich has got Velveeta in it.

BUT, I can stumble home drunk from there, which puts it head and shoulders above any other sports bar IMO. Except for maybe that 'Top Shelf' place above the ice skating rink, if it's still open, because I can stumble home from there too and they have a bigger TV.

Beej, is that new place where the skating rink is any good? John's working on the food at Bradleys, give him a little time. He is also slowly adding some Tech stuff in there as well. I'm going to let him borrow a couple of things as well. Even had a drink with B. Bock the other day, he was actually nice to me.

Just curious, Did Beau Bock say he was becoming a GT fan again? He disliked Gailey and disshed us after Gailey was named coach, but he seemed to really like GT while Oleary was here. Did he say how he felt about PJ?

He thought the hire was a very good one and that's about all was said. His brother came in later and we talked about the HS Semi's at the dome. He did however have time to compliment the bartender's two large masses on her chest.

Bradley's is full of UGA stuff? How can you even go there and how is the owner from Tech? If it's not full with UGA stuff, I would consider it, otherwise I'll take the bad service at rocky mountain, I don't mind it anyway, especially after I am drunk.

It might have 5 or 6 items in there and a couple of Tech things, he's getting better and as beej says I can stumble home which is a huge plus.

Top Shelf was awesome when the Tech hockey team played there, because you could drink beer and look down over the rink. I think their hours might be pretty irregular, but it's probably a great place to watch the Thrashers.

I can't fault the Bradley's guy for having UGA stuff in his bar. Gotta play to the masses. I will say, though, he's definitely sympathetic to the Tech crowd. Gave us some shots on the house during the Maryland game. That was pretty cool.

Does Bock live nearby or something?

I think Bock and his brother live close by. He used to go to the restaurant off Johnsons ferry that changed to Trilogy at the old skating rink. I imagine he hits them all.

I like John at Bradleys, at least he's trying to make a good run at it. The place will have a new look come spring.

Speaking of carpet-bombed .....Bretheren, I have been to Purgatory and returned. Have some old friends who, for some incomprehensible reason, decided to reside in The Bunghole of the Universe. Went visit last night. After dinner they wanted to go to what passes for a mall in The Bunghole. There is a store in there that is wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling UGag stuff. A red and black nightmare.

When we saw it, said to the wife that this is surely what Hell looks like. Could not make myself go in.

Anybody know of any place comparably Tech-centric around here?

Thanks. Was hoping there might be one. I'm going to check it out this week for Xmas presents. My own kids are grown and gone, but several up-and-coming nieces and nephews would look real good in GT stuff. Got to head off the mind-rot potential from UGag.

OK, how do I get in on the free shots? I've never seen a stingtalker in person; and only Beej67's face printed on the bottom of a breast. Where does the free drinks crowd sit?

I'll be the white guy in his 30's with Tech stuff on.

HA!

Looks like, per SWMBO, we will be in town for the game, so might as well make it official. Hopefully Kirbee can make it so I can collect on the bet.

beej67,
hopes none of the people he's pissed off on Stingtalk show up to start a fight or anything

wha? :ugh:

..why mess up a perfectly good breast?

That's what I said.

beej67,
thinks the shirt in question was a print of a photo of another Hiver, and I was in the bottom corner because I sat near the guy

Hmmmm, let's see...

Tailgater's Alley is in Discover Mill Mall on Sugarloaf Parkway.

Trilogy used to be Houck's. Well, actually Trilogy used to be Sparkle's Roller Rink, but the folks from Houck's remodel it into a really bizarre Johnny's Hideaway-esque scary sorta place. The place that used to be Houck's is now the Paper Mill Grill.

The Top Shelf has been remodeled and reopened just a few weeks ago. The new owner of The MIC has been dumping some money into the entire facility. Not sure if it's the same guy, but the one in charge of the restaurant (which I want to say has changed names to something like the Blueline Grill, or somesuch) is trying hard. I had a Chicago dog (with ingredients imported from Chicago!) and some beer cheese soup that was pretty good. And there's always wings and beer.

See you at Bradley's. I'll be the other white guy.

Yeah, that's the shirt. It was a picture of buzztinloose and appeared on ladybuzz's chest (allegedly). I have a great memory for things I see. I have a piss poor memory for things I hear.

So if beej67 looks exactly the same as he did there, there I will be able to find the stingtalk section. otherwise, you will have to be on the lookout for me.
White guy, 30's, GT gear, skinny, look like an engineer.
