Anyone get this tone deaf email today? Unbelievable...

When I got the email, I googled the number and it's apparently an outsourced alumni project management company. So it appears unrelated to what's going on, but I didn't call the number myself.

I actually called. They are putting together a "memories" book and throwing in a couple of t-shirts and a bag all for two payments of $225 or something.

Memories like a bowl streak, final 4 and actually having a reasonable hope to beat whoever we play on any given day? Is that what they are asking for?

I did like the free hat this weekend.
Except they were not giving them away at all the gates. None were being given at the North Avenue Gate where we enter the upper east deck. A friend of mine went to the North Stands gate to find out why, and he was told that was a visitors' gate. WTF??? Although overall diminished attendance over the past 20 years had greatly decreased the number of ST holders in the upper east, that is still considered a Tech section, and we are definitely not visitors. Just another example of how the powers that be don't have a clue !!!

reminds me of when they gave out the Calvin Johnson bobbleheads .. they were out by the time we walked in. then i saw multiple Miami fans carrying them around. i emailed the AA and they shipped me one the next week.

Yep. Same ole, same ole for Tech fans. I lucked out and got an extra one that a friend had. Those people really do not have a clue, or just don't give a damn.

When I first saw the email and I thought the GTAA was looking to get a pulse of the fan base. But yeah its a recorded history deal looking to sell a travel bag and book for ~$450

Feel like that's a problem for most sports teams, I've definitely experienced it elsewhere too. I agree it is crappy though.

I believe what they're doing is purposely making not enough for everyone so that fans get there earlier on giveaway days and spend money on concessions.

Wow. It's literally like those spam calls and emails everyone gets.

"Take care of this important matter." That's the type of thing they use to trick old people into calling. Really unbelievable and an awful look.

Yep. I called because I had some time to kill and was curious. The operator spent like 10 minutes asking me questions about memories of Tech athletics and then dropped the "and what card would you like to use for your purchase?" I just hung up. Sad days...

I might be interested if the “memories” book stopped with the Pauls - Johnson and Hewitt.

That might work if they let us know in advance that they were giving away things. Maybe I overlooked it, but I don't remember an announcement about the bottles or the caps. There was an announcement about the Calvin bobbleheads, but they were still all gone by the time I got there.
